Broken motherboard or PSU?
I have a problem with prusa i3 mk3s+ printer. It is dead when plugged in. The display and the power supply do not turn on.I am trying to find the cause of the problem. After disconnecting the first wire (+) in the power supply, the printer turns on.a rally connection to the BED IN board works power supply, and ydisplay, all axes work.I unplugged all components to see if onbe give a short circuit. fuses replaced.I also disconnected the BED out on the board - but that also did not give anything. Is the board to be replaced?
maybe you had a similar fault?
Eventially how to check if it is definitely a broken board.Any suggestions?
regards
RE: Broken motherboard or PSU?
In the UK, we have fuses in, the power plug, that plugs in the wall, and in the power socket on the back of the power supply, and in the controller board... have you checked them all?
Often the one on the PSU Power connector is missed...

RE: Broken motherboard or PSU?
Looking at the schematic for the Einsy board, the connector you are pointing at is the power in for bed heater. Check the wires to your bed and see if there is an issue there. You can disconnect the bed wires and see if the system boots up. If the system boots when the bed is disconnected, it will point to the printer bed wires. Usually at the connector on the bed.
RE: Broken motherboard or PSU?
hi, thank you.I disconnected the heatbad connection and heatbed thermistor. unfortunately it did not change anything.
all the time after disconnecting the power supply on the third input from the left the power supply works and the board fires up. after connecting the voltage on this input on the board - the power supply does not fire up.
Of course, in the first place I checked the fuses. they were working.
it is probably some more complicated repair on the motherboard.
But maybe someone has some more ideas?

RE: Broken motherboard or PSU?
So, you disconnected the 5th and 6th screws from the board and the system still refuses to power up. This confirms that there is an issue with the board. A board is ~US$54 from the Prusa site. I would pull the board out of the case and look at it closely for any foreign material that may have caused an issue. There are not many components on the bed heater part of the circuit board that can affect operation.
