Bed leveling anomaly

Any ideas on what may be causing this?  I have bed leveling set to a 7 x 7 grid on my MK3S.  The attached video shows what the extruder does when it get to the ninth point of checking.  This only happens once in a while, but always only at the ninth point when it does occur.

RE: Bed leveling anomaly

It means the printer doesn't like the reading and is retrying that measurement point.  A high PINDA might cause it to happen. Or you may even have a warped print sheet, but that's lower on the list of possibilities.

RE: Bed leveling anomaly

That little lift-and-pause was added to the firmware shortly after the 7x7 bed leveling feature was added. It simply indicates that the sensor has detected an odd reading and is retrying the probe. Before they added the retry, it would force a Z recalibration which took a long time. One of the findings was that the rapid probing could cause resonance on some print surfaces, which is why a pause allows it to continue. Is there any possibility that the surface supporting your printer wobbles or vibrates? Other things to check are to make sure the nozzle is clean before probing, make sure there's nothing between the underside of the print surface and heated bed (wipe the underside) and generally check the surface.

Other than that, if it's an infrequent occurrence, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
