Bed level correction - changing all values the same amount

If I change all 4 values (front, back, left, and right) to lets say +20 would that be equivalent to moving the bed 20um away from the nozzle or would it be like bending each edge down by 20um and leaving the center where it is?

I'm at my witt's end trying to get even first layers and parts sticking on one of my MK3S's. I'm doing large (190mm x 190mm) prints and the center is too far away where the edges look fine. I'm already using 7x7 mesh bed leveing with I think 5 probes at each point.

I treat the center of the bed as the fixed/calibration point. Then I replaced the other eight edge fixed posts with short, fairly high constant springs that allow each position to be individually adjusted. (Joe could do well to adopt this design.) With power off (to allow manual movement of X and Y axes), and build plate removed, I use a credit card as a go/no go gauge under the nozzle and adjust each screw accordingly. A small Z axis pointer (pictured) barely moves during printing indicating very little dynamic mesh bed leveling is needed.

I performed the nylock mod on my MK3S. Works great.

Hmmmm, I  was unaware of the Nyloc mod. Mine is similar in many ways, but doesn't depend on Octoprint, which may not be desirable for all users. I also wonder whether the nylon washers (that serve the same purpose as my springs) could change their spring force depending on bed heat levels, age "fatigue", etc., whereas springs are more (force) stable in that regard (I say, providing no imperical evidence.)

I installed the mod in August of 21. No problems with the leveling/first layer since. Never did any checking or adjustments within the plugin since the install. And I printed some models in the last weeks that covered the whole bed. The printer is not in heavy 24/7 use most of the time, but runs more than once a week.
