Auto Home going to the wrong spot and Y-Axis crashing as a result
On 3.8.0 firmware, brand new Prusa assembled MK3S. Successfully printed 3 models after to moving the PINDA sensor down a bit (is it weird I had to do that on a new assembled printer?) so Z-leveling didn't scratch my build plate.
HOWEVER now before every print I try, the printer wants to go through a 40 point Z leveling exercise even after I have just reset all calibrations and went through them successfully and visually saw the extruder over the correct PINDA points. The problem with that though is that the Auto Home starts off in the wrong place so the printer runs out of Y-axis space for the last 8-10 checks (crashes). It's consistently off by a couple of centimeters towards the back off the build plate (farther from the edge).
What could be causing this?? I can't print at all because of these crashes. Btw this started to happen after I tried my first octoprint (successfully). I've recalibrated a couple of times already...

I think I figured out the issue with Auto Home. There is a small cable sticking out into the air underneath the build plate where all the wiring connects to the plate. After manually turning off the machine and moving the Y-axis back and forth a few times I couldn't find any problem. Then I turned the printer upside down and realized the build plate wasn't going all the way back because this cable was being squished between the plate and the smooth rods that the build plate glides on. Here's a picture of it. Shouldn't this be strapped down or something from the factory? Is it safe to tape to the back of the build plate or something to keep this from happening again?

That is the Thermistor wire,
the Thermistor bead should be located somewhere near the middle of the heat bed, retained in position by a piece of silvery aluminium adhesive tape and some gold coloured Kapton adhesive tape, the wire should be smooth against the bottom of the build plate with a tiny bit of slack all the way to the plastic housing which covers the screw terminals for the power wires, and clamps the nylon braided cable covering in position,
the thermistor wire should wrap around the power cables about 3 times in it's length inside the braided cable bundle cover between the heat bed connector clamp and the einsy case cable clamp, and all of the spare cable length should be inside the einsy case.
