After 3.10.1 upgrade MK3S+ no longer beeps at start of print job
My printer lives in a dark corner of my basement only to be visited at the start and end of each print job or when changing filament. I run Octopi on a Pi 3B+ connected to my LAN by ethernet and all control is from the browser of my desktop PC or Android phone. So that is the layout in a nutshell.
After over a week of nagging at the start of each print job I finally upgraded the firmware to 3.10.1. That process went smoothly and printing is as before, no issues there. With the previous firmware when I would start a print job remotely using OctoPrint the printer would emit a beep-beep as it started to print. I have heard this since I began using OctoPrint to control the printer which was a few days after I put the printer in service so I don't recall if it gave an audible alert when the printer was standalone. This audible notification was helpful since I can hear it from upstairs at my desk and I normally watch the start of each print job using the webcam.
But I have noticed I no longer hear the beep-beep when I start a print job remotely via OctoPrint. I looked through the settings for Octoprint and I do not see anywhere to enable or disable this function and I found nothing in the printer settings either. A couple days before I upgraded the firmware I disabled in the Firmware Check (2021.10.11) plugin the out-of-spec firmware update notification. Afterwards I continued to receive the beep-beep on the start of printing.
I'm also concerned that if the audible alert function in the printer has been disabled I won't hear out of filament or other alarms from the printer.
Where do I turn this function back on or is that not possible?
Thanks

Check out the M300 gcode command.
I ran into the same question/issue. I couldn't find any solutions in any settings anywhere, but I did find a workaround that uses the M300 command to add two beeps to the start of every gcode file that PrusaSlicer spits out. I put it at the beginning of the file, but I think a bunch of people put it after the extruder/bed heat up but before it starts printing. Its really easy to add to the Printer Settings>Custom G-code>Start G-code in PrusaSlicer (you can also add beeps to the end, layer changes, etc.). Some people get really crazy with it and have whole songs/tunes play at certain times.
