Adaptive layer height
Hello!
How do I turn on adaptive layer height in Slic3r PE? I know how to do manual layer editing, but there's also supposed to be an automatic option that can be enabled in the layers section of the print settings?

Thanks
Matthew
Re: Adaptive layer height
That's the regular Slic3r manual; it is different from the PE version offered by PRUSA; the latter does not have this feature yet.
Re: Adaptive layer height
Hmm this feature is from a few years ago now (I find mentions in September 2017). I am assuming the PE version has synced from upstream since then?
Re: Adaptive layer height
I don't think so. It is much like Marlin, where the prusa and original variants have diverged and each has features the other does not.
But since they're both open source it just takes someone with time and skills to merge/port the features and file a pull request...
Re: Adaptive layer height
That's unfortunate. I am a programmer but don't currently have time to help out :(.
I thought Slic3r PE is mostly just regular Slic3r with Prusa configs bundled. Didn't think there would be many changes that won't be applicable upstream?

To use it with the current version of Slic3r, 1st select the part with your mouse, then press the right-most icon in the toolbar at top (with the thick layers at top and thin at bottom). Then use your right and left mouse buttons in the grid at right to adjust layer thickness. In this example, layers I've made thinner are green, thicker are red:

Slice and you can preview the effect:

He was asking about the "automatic" option in non-PE slic3r, not the manual way.
Re: Adaptive layer height
Ah, gotcha. Mis-read the OP and had Slic3rPE open. Cura and S3D are the only automatics that I'm aware of. I wasn't aware Slic3r had added that capability.
