A few questions on thermal model
Dear all,
yesterday I had a lot of problems with thermal model anomaly pausing the print (MK3S+ with Revo hotend and firmware version 3.13.2).
First I thought it is because I used "preheat" with PLA settings to warm up my enclosure (see also https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/user-and-hardware-mods/enclosure-heating-what-do-you-use/). But I think in the end it was something different.
I printed three times the same file and for the first two I had thermal anomalies at the beginning of the print (first 10 layers?). PID calibration did not make a difference. I just resumed the print all the time to get it done.
Before I started the third print, I did a thermal model calibration and then the third print worked without any issues!
I had the feeling that the temperature readings for the hotend on the display were much more stable after I did the thermal model calibration. Up to now I thought this model is only used to check if the temperature "behaves" as the model predicts. Or is it also tuning the temperature control (PID controller?)?
I am asking myself why this calibration solved the issue. Probably something has changed on my system? But I did not do any changes. So is some component may be wear out?
Greetings
Oliver
