Z level resets when raising?
Hi,
I have the mk3s+ and noticed while raising the Z axis up to clean the nozzle, then going on to the menus to heat the nozzle,
and trying to return to the rest position of the z axis when finished , it resets and will only go halfway down , it reads zero there. Any idea what I'm doing wrong???? thanks john.
RE: Z level resets when raising?
How are you raising Z? Are you going into Calibration -> Auto Home?

RE: Z level resets when raising?
no, I just went to setting to raise Z way up, then pushed the button to switch to
nozzle temp. when I went to bring it back down , it seems to have reset the zero level
to midway down and wouldn't go any further. I've never used autohome yet, Can you tell I'm a newbie 🙂
RE: Z level resets when raising?
Did you raise it with your hands or using the move z axis menu?
When in doubt use auto-home.

You may find that after the printer is switched off and back on it will recalibrate itself at the next print.
If not you will need to do an XYZ calibration:
