Working?

Hello,

I have been following this forum for a good bit of time while I decided to get a MK3 or not. I finally ordered on and it should be here tomorrow (Alaska). I do have a question that I cant seem to find an answer to.

Are all of the "upgrades" working that were announced at launch now working? I am asking about things like the collision detection, layer shift, filament sensor, and power loss resume. I know for a good while after launch many people were turning all of these off. Are they working now? I am just trying to find out how I should set my kit up when it arrives.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Re: Working?

The filament sensor can be flaky with some materials, but a pending firmware update is scheduled to fix it. I'm having problems with power-resume, although it worked great for a the 1st few months. Crash detection works, but can only do so much. I'd say it's "mostly working" on all counts, but there are specific circumstances (e.g. shiny filament causes filament sensor issues with current firmware) that are being worked on. Overall though, after watching the experiences other folks have with other printers, I have absolutely no regrets about going with Prusa. The prints are fantastic.

If you're interested, I've compiled my notes on recommended tools & supplies here.
