RE: Which build plate is recommended to choose?
Well... not really.
You use glue stick as a separator so for example a PETG print doesn't stick too hard to the smooth build plate.
PETG already sticks way too hard to a clean smooth PEI sheet.
RE: Which build plate is recommended to choose?
Water soluble glue sticks are key - Elmer's GluStik for School variety... you don't want the permanent glue sticks.
RE: Which build plate is recommended to choose?
Can anybody please check the price of the PEI? As I have not bought the printer yet, I don't see it. It may be a hassle to combine orders later. Prusa now offers 3 options. Printer with PEI at $749, printer with textured powder at $749 or printer with both types of plates at: $793.99.
A gentle correction here. Both the smooth and textured sheets are PEI. The smooth one is an adhesive film (like a sticker) of PEI, and the textured one is powder coated PEI cured directly onto the spring steel sheet. Please use smooth vs textured or sticker vs powder coated to differentiate between them.

If you buy with anything other than a single plate, you incur significant shipping delays.
As I recall, you also lose free shipping if you add anything.
I just ordered a MK3S with the textured plate for that reason. Given that it has not shipped yet, the textured plate may also add delay.
