What spare parts to print?
Dear All,
New in this forum and new to 3D printing. The assembly of the i3S did cost me half a day and was great fun.
Setting it up went well and I am printing now for several hours.
I have the following question. I know I can print every piece of plastic of the machine if something breaks, however, I will need a functional 3D printer for this.
So, experienced Prusa users, which parts of the printer break easily and I should print now to have as spare piece ready?
Many thanks,
Pedro
RE: What spare parts to print?
Take a look at that thread. Might be good to have the relevant parts on hand for when they start causing problems. Alternatively you can look into various extruder upgrades and have one of them ready to go.
Otherwise at 4000ish hours when I tore my MK3 down for the S and MMU upgrades everything was in great shape. 40 hours later, however, I found the above linked melting...
RE: What spare parts to print?
I would print the x axis parts. I just had the clamp for my pinda probe break. If I wouldn’t have had another body I would have had to purchase one or had someone else print it for me. In the 1.5yrs I’ve had my MK3 the only other printed parts that have had a failure was the extruder door that holds the bondtech gear and a couple cooling nozzles.
