What settings do I need to change if I change the nozzle size?
Hello, I have been using i3MK3S+ with 0.4mm over the years. I have changed many settings for my projects and want to keep those settings when I change the nozzle to one of different size. In Prusa Slicer, what specific parameters and values do I have to change if I change the nozzle from 0.4mm to 0.6mm?
I read that one could use the Wizard in Prusa Slicer when changing the nozzle to one of different size. However, doesn't that overwrite the settings I made over the years?
RE: What settings do I need to change if I change the nozzle size?
When switching to a 0.6 mm nozzle from a 0.4 mm nozzle for the first time, the primary parameters that will require your attention are nozzle size, layer height, line width, nozzle temperature and cooling, print speed, wall count, and top and bottom layer count. For this step, you can go ahead and click the printer: tab on right of prusa slicer you will get one more slide go to Add/Remove printers choose Add/Remove presets, open one configuration wizard tab click on Don't install then choose your printer and nozzle as well, then next to finish. This process will tell slicer to load its default profiles configured explicitly for a 0.6 mm nozzle, automatically modifying parameters such as layer height and line width accordingly in the process. then re-confirm the values.
