Thermal Anomaly

Recently had a massive meltdown on the heater block/nozzle and had to fit new heater cable and thermistor now keep getting "Thermal Anomaly".

Changed firmware to 13.3.70 from latest  still no good .Tried another Thermistor still not working. Nozzle is heating.

Tried factory reset still no good .short of changing the whole hot end for a quick change don't know what else to try .

Anyone have any suggestions ?

RE: Thermal Anomaly

I originally built my MK3S+ from a kit.  When I first started it up, I got periodic thermal anomaly errors (every 10-ish minutes).  The problem was that the thermistor cable wasn't fully seated in the controller board.  I pushed it the rest of the way in, and the thermal anomaly error went away.  You might try making sure the thermistor cable is fully plugged in.

RE: Thermal Anomaly

Hi zukpr,

thanks for your reply, its fully pushed in. On self test every thing is fine but doing Pid calibration its gives a error. On close inspection of the Rambo  the socket for the thermistor seems a bit loose so not sure if one of the pins into the board is fractured so I've ordered a new board. Once swapped  i can have a good look with a magnifying glass may be repairable in which case I'll have a spare. Hopefully this will cure the problem.

I'll let you know

RE: Thermal Anomaly

Ok to follow up on this post.

I ordered a new RAMbo which arrived yesterday. Removed old board and fitted new one ,recalibrated everything and installed latest firmware. It is now working fine with no errors. The old board seems fine under a magnifying glass so I don't know what was causing the fault the pins on the thermistor connection are ok although the plastic surrounding isn't rock solid so could be  that's the issue in not holding the connector firmly enough.
