Table or stand
Hi all, just purchased an i3-mk3, looks like it takes about 5 weeks to arrive, i'm excited. New to 3d printing so forgive me if I ask dumb questions.
I don't have any space on my desk for the printer so I was going to buy a small cart or something similar. Do you guys have any ideas or is it just get whatever?
RE: Table or stand
I put in on a small workshop trolley like the one in the link here and I'm very happy with that solution.
The integrated drawers are especially useful. I added some rubber mats to prevent resonance.
RE: Table or stand
I keep my 3D printers in the home utility room - with the hot water tank and air handler. The room is clean, dry, soundproof and there is no air movement. I attached shelves to the walls that are adjustable and 24 inches deep. I find having the printer much higher than a table- about lower chest height - extremely helpful.
Also, the shelves provide much-needed space for filament and printer tools. Any room you put your printer in will soon become cluttered and lead to sharp criticism.

Thats a good idea, I should get the measurements of the base of the printer and look for something similar.
RE: Table or stand
Mine is sat on an old desk/drawer unit that I have in my workroom. Under the printer I have a 50cm x 50cm x 4cm paving slab which is itself sat on a 5cm thick foam block. That combination really makes a huge difference in terms of reducing noise and vibration from the printer. I was going to use squash ball feet but with this in place, it is no longer necessary!

Ive got mine on a kitchen unit that came out of my kitchen to add a dishwasher. I put an offcut of worktop on it and it works well. very sturdy and the large cuboard under it is very usefull.
