Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

I have my printer. Hooray 😀

MK3 Black kit ordered 2018-02-08. 12 weeks to fulfillment.

Arrived with smooth PEI sticker sheet, Revision 3.03 manual, MK52 bed with screw-on terminals and printed page to adjust build instructions, new extruded plastic double spool holder and a pack of Haribo Dinos.

Thanks Prusa.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

If this helps, I spoke to someone on live chat and they said that my order, orange mk3 kit which was placed on 3-12-18, would be shipped at the end of this week, closer to May 10th and 11th, rather than the 7th time on the shipping table. No confirmation yet, will update when I get it.

I'm not sure about that.
I was told yesterday that my order will be shipped next week (14th) and I bought the same kit as you on 07/03/18.

Im not sure tbh then. I'd figure i'd give them till the 11th to see if it actually ships, and if not, message them again and see what can be done. I dont want to cancel my order since i have already made it this far. I get that there is waiting process when it comes to this printer, but i am just getting antsy about not having it. The shipping table they provide not being updated in 2 weeks is a little "ehhh ok" type of thing for me

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

not to start a fight or anything but something to consider. Some of us this is a first dealings with Prusa. If you like the company and such that is great and stick with it. As for me though my first communication with one person I ask them to Change the order to the PEI sheet if my order comes up and the powder coated it not ready.. They tell me they will do that. My shipping date comes and drags on. I send a simple message to inquire. Oh it is on hold awaiting the powder coated sheet. It will be about a month more. if you want it faster Then we need to change it to the PEI. So i tell them again to change it. And right now it is the silent treatment for the past couple days and the order still isn't changed.

So what happened to the first person. To me it appears they lied to me and apparently twice now and have gone silent. What this has done is put a doubt in the integrity of the company itself. You check their facebook and the man who's name is on the printer May be a Great guy but seems to be more interested in conventions and Maker Fairs. So i ask you If i have a part go out. If i order am i going to sit in a limbo with no answers again.
Some might answer no but the evidence show otherwise.

Like a said in the start though. If you like Prusa and have faith in them that is great. I honestly want to. I already have a place cleared next to my other printer for it. I even thought about changing my order to the mk2s and let the bugs iron out of the MK3 for a bit and upgrade it later. But what kind of a fight would i have with that when they won't or can't even alter the current order.

Sometimes it is more that the "I want it now thing."

Dang man, that sounds rough. I had to do the same and they told me as well that i can change the order to the basic plate instead of the powder coated one. So i did so and then got an email conformation about it. So assume that my order was changed as it is also reflected on the shop website.

I can agree with ya that it can be more than a "i want it now thing." while i haven't personally have had bad experiences, at least in in my opinion, i have seen people get dealt the short end of the stick when it comes to the customer service side of things..

BUT! Here's to hoping everything gets worked out. Im sure it will. To me, prusa is a name we know for a reason, whether that be the online personalities that encourage you to buy the printer or those around us that say the printer is worth it.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

My black kit has finally been sent last friday, the 4th (ordered March the 4th).
It is still on the way to my home...UPS annouces me a 'On Time" delivery on Monday, the 14th. 😯
Seriously: 10 days from Praha to the North of France. I think they are bringing me the kit by walk with a bottle of Champagne, flowers for my wife and they are preparing a fireworks for the delivery date.

I'm convinced UPS is dragging my kit by donkey walking backwards through Europe. The kit was shipped on the 24th of April and it is FINALLY in my city. But instead of delivering it on my door today, they have given it to the local post agency who will deliver it tomorrow. That's 15 days shipping time within Europe. Speaking of champagne, maybe I should buy one for my wife (and myself) for being able to cope with me coping with the 8 week waiting period since the printer was ordered... 😉

How heavy is your package? I'm wondering if there is a weight limit slowing down shipping. My order contains a lot of extra filament and weighs 23,5kg. (In any case, it's a far cry from the announced 2 day shipping in the Prusa web shop...)

Ugh.....

I woke up to this UPS Shipping status:

05/08/2018 7:09 A.M. Your package is awaiting clearance related to the Toxic Substance Control Act.

I don't even know what that means.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Black MK3 Kit ordered 21st Feb, arrived at my residence in the UK today, May 8th.

Glad it's here and within 'ok' time (seems fairly average when the delays are considered); Approx. 11 weeks compared to the originally estimated 5-6 weeks. Now I've just got to find the time to build it.

In the email from ups it says delivery is estimated Friday but in the ups website it doesn't have an estimate date yet. It is in clearance now so i think it is going to depend on Customs and such.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Just wanted to provide a quick update for those that might be in the same situation as I found myself in. I ordered my MK3 black/orange kit back towards the end of February. The orders for that week are "Now Shipping", but my order stayed in a "Backorder" status. I knew they were running ab it behind and I figured I'd just chat with support to possibly get some insight as to when it might ship out. They said "next week" - which came and went a a couple of weeks ago.

Tonight I chatted with them again and they said that I had requested/ordered the PEI powdered coated sheet and they weren't in stock yet. Well, I ordered the kit as-is which comes with that sheet, but don't recall that being an option of which sheet I wanted when I placed my order. So back at the beginning of March, I put a "message' in the order to "ship even if the PEI powdered sheet was NOT available and to send me the discount to get one afterwards when becomes available. Turns out they were holding my order and had to change my order details to specify the "smooth" sheet. Hopefully this will update in a few days and maybe get shipped out soon. So for those who are waiting and waiting, maybe this is the issue and worth a chat with them.

Woohoo!! Woke up this morning to an email that my order shipped! Should be here next week if there are no UPS shipping delays. So it was indeed being held up due to the order having the powder coated plate! Crazy as I had requested it be shipped if it was not available. Can't wait to put this together and start printing. Hopefully the powder coated sheets issue will be resolved in the near future and they'll provide us out the discount to order one w/free shipping. So again, those of you waiting - maybe a good idea to contact them if this may be holding you up too.

Best Regards,
Nelson

Well, just checked my tracking progress on UPS and it appears stuck in Germany with the statement "Additional documentation is required for clearance. We're working to obtain this information." Has anyone seen or had this before? Spoke with chat and they said it was a UPS error and will still ship out. So hopefully no delays and kit will arrive okay (and work well once I put it together correctly). Anyhow, just wanted to give another heads-up to those of you who may see this too.

DAMN! My printer is STUCK in customs when it came into the United States! Said it was scheduled for delivery today, but was still out of state. Called UPS and they had me on hold for a while and had to speak with someone at a warehouse that is dealing with customs. First thing he asked me is "what is ABS Juice?" Guess they wouldn't release it because of that! I could only explain it being a liquid spray that allows ABS plastic to adhere better to the heatbed of a 3D printer. I strongly suggest Prusa rename this to a more "technical" or generic name for their packing/customs slip. Hopefully will get released today and out to me tomorrow. What a PITA! Lesson learned though is don't by this "juice" from outside the country next time. Once again, just a heads up to anyone in case you also have the same issue.

Is your reason for the hold 'Toxic substance'? That is mine, but I am not sure where it is actually at lol. It was traveling for 12 hours or so, and scheduled for tomorrow delivery, but overnight held for clearance with the above reason.

Doesn't say "Toxic Substance", just says "Additional documentation is required for clearance. We're working to obtain this information. / Brokerage released the package. It will be processed through a clearing agency before final release to UPS. " and the very latest now says "The package is awaiting clearing agency review. / Your package was released by the clearing agency. " So, I have no idea if it's cleared or not. What's worse it that it doesn't even show an estimated arrival date anymore. Going to chat with Prusa about this now to see if they handle this sort of thing. Totally sucks though!!! Just a warning to others ordering the ABS Juice - DON'T if you're shipping into the US as it will most likely get held up by customs.

If you paid for EU: 2 days UPS Standard ~20€ - and it's taking 10 days, then I'd request a refund for the cost of delivery, as you are clearly not getting the UPS-2-day-service that you paid for.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

I expect information to be up to date when I buy something. The shipping table was, obviously, inaccurate when they said it would be shipped a month after I purchased it. PR eagerly took my $750 and didn't send me a product. Maybe don't charge until ready to ship? That way PR doesn't look like they're just sitting on everyone's money earning interest and not fulfilling their end of the exchange.

I was not told to expect multiple delays until after they took my money and missed the first shipment schedule.

. . . and the second and the third and the fourth . . . and I expect the fifth too . . .

I find it absolutely bizarre that a company can consider it acceptable to repeatedly change delivery dates without so much as shooting the customer a quick emai to let them know, I've literally never come across anything like this outside of a straight-up scam . . . I find it hard to get my head around the idea that a supplier can know in advance that order X will not be delivered on - for example - June 4th, but on July the 4th instead, and not at any stage consider it important to let the customer know ? And to do this repeatedly over weeks and months !

I expect information to be up to date when I buy something.

As I've mentioned elsewhere on the forum, there will be new potential customers looking at the 'shipping information' page and thinking that it - at the least - represents a rough guide to delivery dates . . . but Prusa know it's out of date, yet apparently feel no need to update it (why should they, after all more optimistic delivery dates are more likely to attract customers).
