Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

I sent an email to the lads at Prusa. They responded promptly. Doing great so far. The problem lies in the fact that they don't understand what is really happening in terms of their operations.

Businesses don't get teleported into bankruptcy. It is a slow calculated delivery of excuses for operational failure one after the other. Because they don't address them in real terms they make the customer take the hit. They have your money , you have nothing months after they took it (by the way did you notice how fast it left your bank account - it seems the accounts people were imune to the flu.) and all they can say is it is not our fault.

We had supply issues, the flu hit a lot of staff. These are all true and correct but in business they still amount to excuses.

It is relatively easy to fix. Fire your operations manager if you have one and employ someone who knows about operations in the real world. Co-erce leverage with your suppliers and throw some of your hard earned cash at the problem.

Bankruptcy is just a handful of apathetic excuses away from your next end of month. And finally no matter how geniune you are, don't tell people they will get their stuff on Friday, only to tell them again when you fail to deliver you meant next Friday and so on and so on.

All that being said I will say they do have us by the proverbials since they are the best in terms of 3D printing. We do need to support them as long as we are allowed to speak our minds.

Be gracious always and accept your current fate. It will all work out in the end.

I don't believe that I could say it any better than this.

I'm used to delays in shipping, i'm not used to being charged the full price and then having to wait 30-60 days. I just don't agree with this practice. They have had my money and have delayed my printer shipment 3 times since I purchased it. The excuses don't matter, I feel bad that your staff had the flu but people have paid good money for a product that the company has been negligent in shipping.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

my first post here and getting a bit anxious...
after reading about others who have received their black MK3's ordered after me, my order is still showing as backordered. Now I am a patient man and I trust I will hear at some point, just hoping now it will be sooner than later.

Ordered a black MK3 on Feb. 24th

Ordered 08 Feb. Also black. Zero, zilch, nada. "Backordered". Frustrated with why there are weeks worth of queue jumping. I'm happy for those who have their printer, I just want the same and equal opportunity to join the party.

Hey
Yours will be faster than mine so please let me know how the customs process goes and how much does it cost to clear it.
Cheers

The actual process was painless and didn't seem to delay it at all, and cost $264.64 (Paid $270ish because of credit card surcharge)

Under $800 there shouldn't be any issues or additional charges.

Yeah, we don't live in NA, and have a much lower limit here in NZ. And considering the printer works out at around $1200ish NZD, it wouldn't matter much anyway.

The awesome printer is blocked in Auckland since 20 April. For those in NZ not having a CLIENT CODE for import, better do it before. It looks like a long process to register to tsw.govt.nz and pay duty/vat

Can you do this in advance or do you need to wait until the package arrives in NZ?

If that's your case (not having a client code yet) then, I think, it's better to get one in advance. Not sure why..., honestly. I could pay upfront but they wanted THE FCKG CLIENT CODE 🙂

I'm buying for private use though? Don't remember having to do this for my other purchases that got pinged for customs

I bought it for private use , too and the CLIENT CODE registration form has a field to choose between individual or company.
"Due to the high value of this shipment a NZ Customs client code is required to get the goods cleared, as per NZ Customs requirement."
About the client code(at the bottom of the page: https://www.customs.govt.nz/personal/duty-and-gst/faqs/

Anyway, registered and paid so I'm all good now and hopefully it will be here today/tomorrow.
Cheers

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Right now, I am as impressed with UPS as I am with Prusa customer service. Check out the tracking information. My hypothesis is that the lower part of the form is created by the logistics department and the upper part of the form by the PR department.

Ok, seems it is my turn to be that guy who can't find out how to post an image in a forum. Here's a link to the image in case the image tag above won't take the imgur link:

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Just wanted to provide a quick update for those that might be in the same situation as I found myself in. I ordered my MK3 black/orange kit back towards the end of February. The orders for that week are "Now Shipping", but my order stayed in a "Backorder" status. I knew they were running ab it behind and I figured I'd just chat with support to possibly get some insight as to when it might ship out. They said "next week" - which came and went a a couple of weeks ago.

Tonight I chatted with them again and they said that I had requested/ordered the PEI powdered coated sheet and they weren't in stock yet. Well, I ordered the kit as-is which comes with that sheet, but don't recall that being an option of which sheet I wanted when I placed my order. So back at the beginning of March, I put a "message' in the order to "ship even if the PEI powdered sheet was NOT available and to send me the discount to get one afterwards when becomes available. Turns out they were holding my order and had to change my order details to specify the "smooth" sheet. Hopefully this will update in a few days and maybe get shipped out soon. So for those who are waiting and waiting, maybe this is the issue and worth a chat with them.

I got it yesterday...May 1st. It was shipped out from PR on April 25th. I ordered it on March 2nd. It's a MK3 orange kit. I did not order any additional items. I requested the in-stock smooth PEI sticker sheet. Shipping was uneventful and I had no problems. I built the kit today...May 2nd...in about 8 hours. I'm currently on my 6th print. Everything is printing PERFECTLY. Although everything is a clusterfuck over at PR right now, the kit is DEFINITELY worth the wait. I'm having lots of fun with it right now. And every print so far has been PERFECT. I hope all you guys get your kits very soon. Cheers.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

i ordered my kit on February 12th - i thought, the orders would go out in the order they got in, now i'm looking at the spreadsheet and there are many orders already delivered that were placed after mine and even some orders fulfilled that got in a full month after mine (all Kits) - how is that possible?

It shouldn't be possible, but it is happening. It is pretty much what half of the 131 pages in this thread are about. One of the more compelling reasons that have come up is that Prusa at some time in the process lost control over the shipping queue. To alleviate this they have switched to a better (?) customer management/logistics system, which at least for some time seems to have made the problems even worse. I guess the new system can be as good as anything, but if the data that were migrated over from the old system are spaghetti, then the only way to fix it is hard work from Prusa research. Let's hope they get it sorted soon!

I also ordered my kit on February 12th and it was shipped on April 24th. I too noticed that several customers ordering after me got their order shipped weeks before mine. After shipping, my order has for some reason been held up by UPS in Praque for 10 days now. I have not gotten an explanation why, just a reassurance from Prusa support that it will arrive soon. Liberal application of patience ointment is the best advice I can give.

Good advice, just contacted chat and had mine changed as well. They tell me they are a week behind again !. Mine was ordered 9/3/18, (week 10) due out this week. Chat is very frustrated that the shipping table is not undated enough. Come on management - you promise to update it immediately there is a change!!

Woohoo!! Woke up this morning to an email that my order shipped! Should be here next week if there are no UPS shipping delays. So it was indeed being held up due to the order having the powder coated plate! Crazy as I had requested it be shipped if it was not available. Can't wait to put this together and start printing. Hopefully the powder coated sheets issue will be resolved in the near future and they'll provide us out the discount to order one w/free shipping. So again, those of you waiting - maybe a good idea to contact them if this may be holding you up too.

Best Regards,
Nelson
