Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

A bit disappointing to see those January orders already arriving before my December order has shipped as well. Definitely strange that they’d be going out of order at this point.

I asked support and they are saying everything is being shipped in order, but we have people ordering in January that have already received theirs. Still waiting for any kind of update on my week 52 kit.

Week 43 here, and I'm still waiting. I spoke to support today to see if they expect to maintain Josef's claim that printers like mine which were delayed due to the textured sheets would ship this week. He seemed to have no idea what I was talking about and said I shouldn't expect mine until the sheets come in sometime in April. After I explained the email he said, "hopefully next week, but no promises". I'm so tired of getting responses like that. If it doesn't get shipped this week, it will be the third time they've fallen through on their estimates. Is anyone in control of the the shipping process over there? I completely understand certain delays, especially in the early months of shipment, and especially when manufacturers don't deliver the product, but they've been shipping for a while now and the kinks should be all sorted out. If there are X number of printers ordered and Y are shipped each day and you know the order in which the purchases were made, why can't you give me an exact number? If I am 105th in line and 10 printers are shipped each day, then you should be able to tell me with 100% confidence that my printer will ship on the 11th day. Still uncertain? Give me a conservative estimate. If your numbers say it will ship in 11 days, tell me it will ship in 14. If you guys are late, no harm no foul. If you guys are on track with your internal schedule of 11 days, well now you're shipping it to me 3 days early and I'll be head over heels praising Prusa for the modern manufacturing marvel. But if you tell me it will ship in 7 days, and you're late, now I'm going to be pissed.

Freakin' mistakes were made.

/end rant

The update is on the blog from like the 1st-2nd.... there is no powder coated sheets yet, they're still defective. if you want it sooner you should switch it to the PEI sheet since the powder coated gets a discount and FREE shipping anyway. it's a good deal considering that having TWO sheets is a good idea anyway. one coated, one smooth. They don't want to give dates for it anymore... on the tracking is says April perhaps but i wouldn't hold my breath. if you want it, get it with the PEI version and print shit now instead of later. there's nothing wrong with PEI version and my MK2s with 2000+ hours of printing still has a near perfect pristine original PEI sheet on it. the other is double sided. plus removable anyway so no scratches. the textured is nice for more grip and a texture but it's not essential to the MK3.....

MK2.5 upgrades are now shipping with the PEI version as well to prevent delays.

Anyway, it says they're scaling up employees so lead time might drop to near 0 or at least 1-2 weeks for new orders. so things will ramp up soon.

Indeed its like part of the packing crew are still using the old shipping table, as on the old schedule weeks 1 and 2 would be shipping out this week. 😆
Maybe we should email the new table to them.

Laughing aside, its clearly not fair to the week 52 people still waiting.

Week 52 person here. I know you are joking, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if you are also correct.

Indeed it was intended as a joke, but you get to wonder.
Being that my order is a week 2 order i would be thrilled to get a notification myself (being that in the old table this would have been my week), but i know thats just not fair. One thing is for sure, chat is not doing anything about it, so as far as i know its just a case of dumb luck.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Does anyone know how long it takes typically to go from "Order being packed" to the next stage?

You’re correct that that is what’s described in the blog post, and if that was my current circumstance, then I would share your thoughs completely. But the email I received from Josef is not the same as what’s in the blog. The offer described in the blog is for new orders. Since I already opted to wait the first time they had issues back in December, what’s now been promised is that they don’t want to delay my printer anymore. They are going to ship it this week with the MK2 sheet and when the new sheets arrive they are going to ship it to me for free, no charge. It’s a great compromise and I was very appreciative of it since it felt like it justified my decision to hold out for the new sheets. But now they can’t use those as their excuse for delaying my printer. It’s the same as every other one that leaves the building. Now they should be able to give me a reliable estimate.

Oh, so Prusa doesn't update the order status at the right time then? I guess I'll keep tracking the UPS label instead to see when it ships out.

I got stalled out on the dreaded "missing commercial invoice is causing a delay". It was labeled and picked up by UPS the same day. Now if it can just get out of customs I might have it by the weekend.........

I think everyone has that? Mine did too. Didn’t see where it slowed down the shipment any on mine.

How long did UPS display that message for you? My printer has apparently not moved from that status since 3/5.

It didn't change until it updated that it was already in US customs in Kentucky. About two days. Next day it was in St Louis and marked "out for delivery" 🙂

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

I ordered (orange, kit, no special requests, do not wait for new sheets) late on Dec. 24th, so there's a good chance I'm one of the last week 51 orders.

I haven't gotten any shipping information and my order status is payment accepted/on back order.

Uggggh. It's so close that I can't help but be flustered. Earlier it got updated as making it to Germany and a delivery date of 3/9 was posted. Now it says it will be sent to the closest center and the delivery date is gone. I'm still hopeful but after waiting all this time I'm just so antsy to get my hands on that bad boy. I'm compulsively checking the UPS tracking site.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

It seems weird. I wonder what could cause such a thing with the trackings and shippings.

I honestly don't know if I have powder coated board or not, since I don't recall any such selection during the purchase process.

I ordered in week 52 as well.

I fell like them sending out the week 1 and 2 orders before ours is punishment for waiting until the end of the year to order. Look on the bright side there's likely only a week or two more before they ship.

Steve,
I had my MK3 held up aldo Week 46. I asked Support the same thing last night and was told that I should see a shipping label in 7 days. Two hours later it's been updated to my account and I received an email.
When you asked Support, did you give them your Order Number? I've read it will take about 4 days before I get anohter update. We'll see if that holds up.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Support said my black mk3 kit will be shipped sometime next week. Possibly due to the 2.5 kits starting to ship and only shipping in black. He said they were having some issues with black parts and they were the cause for the delays on my order. Just sucks all these delays are happening right when my printer was supposed to ship. Feb 26th pushed all the way out to March 12+.

Nothing can be done I'm just anxious to have my printer and super excited but Prauge to U.S. 3 days. Moving that thing another three states in the U.S.? Another 3 days. Get your sh!t together. It got moved across the ocean in less time than it is going to take you to ship it 5 hours away.
