Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

There are also currently some shipping issues.. 6 at a minimum; where they are being “held” in the shipping process (UPS- mine in Germany).

These are from the batch last week that were shipped (mine included). So time will tell.. I currently have zero idea when I’ll see mine actually arrive :). I’m thinking at least another week assuming the unknown issue is resolved.

It doesn't seem to me like they're far behind (if anything, they may be ahead)

According to our sheet, they've shipped 30/48 MK3s in "Launch Week", and its been a little over a week.

They have another 6 says to ship the remaining printers from the initial announcement. We've got a very limited sample, but with what we have, we could say they're ahead of schedule, or at least keeping schedule.

I agree with this assessment. I'm quite sure we've only capture a percentage of actual orders, but I think we have enough that we can get pretty close to the total average using just our sample size. Our chart shows they've shipped about 32/57 known Launch Week orders, which is about 56%. They've had 9 days of shipping so far (Including the 29th and today), and have 5 days remaining (starting tomorrow up to and including the 12th). That puts us at 9 out of 14, aka 64%; Lets make that a little more readable:

"Launch Week" Order Progress: 56% (est.)
"Launch Week" Actual Progress: 64%

Looks like they are about 8% behind schedule, but honestly that's probably within the margin for error, so they may actually be 100% on track right now. Knowing just what we know from the charts and when you consider they've had a number of setbacks (Noctua not producing Black fans quick enough, Powder Coated PEI production yield issues, etc) I think they're right on track, especially for the first week (which can often be plagued with various issues), I think Prusa Research is doing just fine. I would expect production to kick up in the coming weeks as they iron out all the kinks and production yields increase on the source parts.

Don't get me wrong, I'm counting the minutes until my Mk3 gets here, but I think Prusa Research is totally performing as well as, if not better than, can be expected for a team/company their size.

Also remember that the chart is entirely user sourced, so there's a big margin for error. For example, there are about 25 unfilled "Launch Week" orders on the charts, but it's completely possible 20 of those may have actually shipped and the users never came back to update. We must all remember to take the chart with a grain of salt as it is user sourced and inherently flawed. As we move forward, I think it will become abundantly clear which users are not updating their rows, as we push forward we will begin to see rows which "never shipped" that should have shipped weeks prior, but it's too early to tell just yet.

Edit: For clarity, I am also including the 9 orders which were placed before 9/23, which we are calling "MK2S" week, and is for MK2S orders that were upgraded to MK3 and put at the top of the preorder list. That is why adam8797 says 48 but I said 57.

Edit2: Sorry didn't want to double post.

Not the biggest deal, but was really hoping for the black fan, considering I'd ordered a black MK3.

You will probably be able to source the black version in the future, if not in the wild then from Prusa themselves (just tell them you need a replacement fan in a few months if it's not on the shop, I'm sure they will be happy to help once they can supply them quick enough). I understand the disappointment though, and paying for shipping again is certainly not fun :(.

Looks like orders from the 23rd are pretty much filled. They are starting to fill orders on the 24th now. Depending on how things are going they maybe a little ahead or behind schedule. I have worked in Production and new product launches are tricky sometimes.

Remember, this spreadsheet is not a "source of truth". There could be people who lied (for some reason).

I'd caution everyone from using this spreadsheet as reason to complain (not calling you out leonardo.g3, just commenting in general). This is more of a fun thing we can do to try and predict, and keep track.

Now, if you see people from the next batch start shipping, then maybe you could ask support.

Truth is an illusion and shipping lists doubly so at Christmas time. I got plenty of stuff not showing up this Christmas and Prusa so far is better than most keeping us informed.

Yeah, USA order here that said it was delivered to Prague on UPS’s website. Really confused at the moment, will give it a couple days.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

The log jam in Germany finally “broke” and they shipped out. Unfortunately mine immediately got delayed in Kentucky due to Mechanical Issues. This is like a large pot of water that I’m waiting to boil.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

It's not comforting seeing a ship date of 12/7/2017 for an order placed 09/24/2017 lol. I'm really starting to doubt these initial shipment windows.

yeah, another "not a big deal" situation for me personally as I have another printer, but when someone says "shipping in november," that makes it sound more like middle of the month, not literally the last day. But eh. I guess I'll get it when I get it.

Don't wanna sound too negative on the Prusa forums anyway, and I'm sure it'll print really well once I get it.

I'd still just reiterate that I *personally* think Prusa should start slowing down the promises until he gets official confirmation on certain things.

The shipping, the PEI, the black fans...all get expectations to a certain level, and then it's disappointing when those expectations aren't met

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Well... my order is on its way (i think).

UPS tracking shows it has been accepted by them and scanned but on my account on Prusa site says it's still being packed xD.

UPS shows it's going to be delivered 14/12/2017 so yay for receiving it before Xmas =).

Hopefully you have a sneaky package and can get through.

Mine was supposed to be here today...but has not left Deuchland yet like many...

Think we are all stalled up in the queue for airfreight space.

That or the boxes are all Jambing up on the conveyer belt shipping hole causing a MASSIVE log jamb of Prusa Printers.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

I'm starting to get excited. Ordered my kit early on 9/24/2017 and am waiting patiently for an email showing it is shipping, it can't be too much longer if Prusa stick to their schedule. It might arrive before Christmas if i'm lucky, travel time to Australia can be a bit of a pain. 🙂

Top stuff on the spreadsheet, it keeps me informed, hopeful it will arrive soon, but not alarmed that I haven't received notice of shipping yet. Thank you

Yea... that stuck in germany thing is making me think it wont get here by the scheduled time..

It arrived in Nurnberg (germany) today.

Is that bottleneck for every printer or just the ones going to USA?

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Ok, got this printer a few days ago, updated the sheet accordingly. It is so nice! 😀

Putting it together is way faster, it's really sturdy, and WOW it's fast and silent at the same time. Couldn't believe my eyes and ears at first! 😎

The normal PEI sheet is no problem at all, same finish as MK2.
Funny thing is, it sticks well when hot but the object is loose once the bed is cooled down (not like MK2, where it will stick quite some anyhow)

Don't forget to check out rnldnkp.com 😀

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Nürnberg is imho the first hop after Prag when going to Germany. And cologne seems to be the departing hub towards USA.

So far we only heard of airplane bottlenecks in cologne. Not a bottleneck in Nürnberg where it is all moved by truck I think

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

About 25% of Sept24 shipped. Hopefully they are busy over the weekend getting them built and shipped. I ordered on Sept25. I was just starting research into 3d Printers just before this came out and took me 3days of research to figure our who Prusa was and what the quality of the product was. Still hoping for delivery before Dec22.
