Self check can not find bed, axis error
Hello all,
I have a prusa that is failing to complete the auto startup sequence. I had a bad crash and had to rebuild the extruder head and updated the firmware finally. Now it runs auto startup and fails when trying to find the bed when it asks you to take off the metal sheet. I suspect it is a bad PIND sensor but thought I would ask the collective before ordering a new one. I can get the Pind sensor to flash the light on and off, but it doesn't come on consistently and errors out when trying to find the bed without steel sheet and paper. I've tried adjusting but the sensor did take some damage in the crash and perhaps is not correct. Any thoughts?

Sometimes the Pinda Cable goes faulty due to flexing...
You can splice in, a replacement section... as per the drawing.
I do not reccommend repairing one conductor in the existing cable, because this will put the repair in the flexible section of the cable which is a recipe for disaster, and the other three wires ahve also flexed a lot, so they are likely to fail soon!
I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK
