RE: Returning MK3S+ - how long is reasonable to wait for a response from Prusa

It's definitely soured the experience. I have contacted Prusa and even sent the screen shots of the conversation, but they don't care, they just want to sell as much obsolete inventory as they can, the viewpoint of the customer means nothing.

It's made it so my excitement and anticipation of finally getting a new printer that wasn't a major PIA to get prints off the old-style heat bed has turned to the point I really don't want anything to do with my mk3s+ even with its proven record.

Its sitting unopened on the floor of my shop and I'm still printing with my ancient MK2, prying the prints from the bed, because every time I look at the box with the mk3 it just pisses me off.

I'm seriously considering donating them both to a local school.

What did you decide to do with your MK3+s dilemma? Are you going to keep it?

After a few more days to think it over, I’m going to send mine back. I think I have found a source for enough parts to  upgrade my Mk2 to Mk2.5 so I’ll have the magnetic bed and filament sensor.

If I’m going to have to live with an obsolete printer, I might as well just keep the obsolete one I already own and get my money back on the Mk3s+.

The only reason I wanted a new one anyway was the mag bed and filament sensor, and it looks like I can do that for about $200

I decided to keep mine and maybe order an MK4 later this year. I may even consider the kit, on the fence on that. I’m going to watch the early adopters to see their experiences and what issues they do/do not encounter. As with any new product there are usually bugs to be worked out. I would prefer to wait til things settle down. I look forward to not having to chisel my prints off the print bed as I do on my existing printer (Soundforge). I’ve tried everything on that - glass plate, painters tape, glue stick - when using all 3 it works but is still a pain. As you have a Prusa you have more options than I do.

I was very angry initially with the release of the MK4 while my MK3S+ was in transit. What calmed me down eventually was treating this the way I do cars - buying used ones, new ones that were a model year old etc… Regardless of which I bought they always brought me happiness. Basically they were new to me.    A quote from a Patrick Swayze movie - my wish for all is to not get what makes you happy, but to be happy with what you get. That’s where I am and the $200 credit helps!
