Prints fail after first layer

First layer goes down fine then I get a blockage and the clicking of the feed.  An unload and reload and it will print again but then again same issue.  Some times I get 2-3mm of additional layers before the issue.  Printer thinks its doing fine and printing in midair

I am going slightly mad

Wipe line and brim look good. Y perimeters look good x perimeter very bad. Are you sure this large object has a flat bottom?

@jamie-2

Save project, zip it and upload. Way easier to get help that way

So now this is getting stranger.

I upgraded the firmware and re-sliced at draft setting and the print went perfectly.  Then I add ironing and move it to 15 at back to square one.  Both file attached Drennheim_Wall_Section_B_2_0.3mm_PLA_MK3S_5h26m.gcode Drennheim_Wall_Section_B_2_0.15mm_PLA_MK3S_14h22m.gcode

Drennheim_Wall_Section_B_2.3mf

3mf file version of failing version.  I have tried twice now and its not working

so now it is working if you use draft settings and not the .3mf setting?

In general, I would not use the 3mf setting - my opinion is 3mf settings are someone's choice for a particular machine, filament, and environment. These settings will not work for all.

So last night left it running 3 hours in and it failed again came in this morning to find the printer moving about 3 cm above the 4mm of model it had printed successfully.

I have tried 4 different pla same basic result at some point it jams.  Also tried on two machines.....

@jamie-2

I printed the bottom part of the 3mf-file you upload, sliced it, export g-code, and print, didn't change anything, and it printed perfect.

So, a few questions to clarify:
Do you have the same problem on two printers?
Is this the only part you struggle with?
Is there any chance that you have a partly clogged nozzle from printing hotter filament?
Have you done a cold pull to clean the nozzle?

And back to basic:
Is your bed CLEAN? And with "clean" I mean soap and hot water clean, not IPA-clean?
Do you use 7x7 mesh bed leveling?
How about your extruder idler tension? ( https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/extruder-noises_2013 )

@ringarn67

Bed is clean.  I printed it in draft but not at higher quality.  No both printers seem to be having these problems on and off for a while.

I have tried different tensions and but the instructions are a little vague.

 I have purchased another colour pla today to try a cold pull. I have only ever printed with pla

I have to do some open printers surgery on one of these soon as the MMU turned up yesterday so will see if that helps

i am using 7x7

What difference would the bed being clean make to a fail 3 hours in which is what I saw yesterday.

That may be a stupid question now that I think about it, I just want to know as much as possible.

I agree about the tension instructions, very vague.

Have you opened the door and clean the gears? If you push the filament manually down the extruder with the tensioner loose, does it come out in a nice melted line straight down, or is it off to one side. I have seen a movie clip somewhere, I just could not find it right now.

So strange that you have the same problem on both printers.

Sorry yes I am letting my frustration with the printers to bleed out a little.  This is what I came down to this morning it was about an inch above this.  Most time it fails on first layer sometimes it works for a few hours then fails.  The PLA unloads fine then once you put it back in it flows fine straight into the little pile.  Then occasionally it will just work

So after a cold pull the following

failed after a couple of layers. no clicking sound - unloaded and loaded fine.  Getting to the point where the printer is going to get thrown out the office once and for all.......

Cold pull showed very little
