printer suddenly stops for "waiting for temp" then prints out of bounds
see video for the problem.
lots of things happening mid print.
RE: printer suddenly stops for "waiting for temp" then prints out of bounds
You have too much friction on one of the axes. Power off- and move the extruder and bed by hand. Bed should move front to back without sticking, and extruder should slide left right without sticking or hard sports.
Also, if you have a MK3 (non-S), turn off the filament sensor.
RE: printer suddenly stops for "waiting for temp" then prints out of bounds
Why do you think I have too much friction? This has happened twice now on almost the same place. (same model).
And why should I turn off the filament sensor? it's worked as it should for almost a year now.
yesterday I printed 4 other models for 10 hours straight. no issues. yes, that same white filament.

You're not the only one with this issue, it's definitely not friction.

It's the filament sensor registering a false jam or runout. Check your fail stats after it happens to see if the runout count has incremented. For some reason it will occasionally lose the planning buffer and run off the print area or cause a layer shift.
