Re: Powder Coated PEI Steel Sheet
Received my voucher today. I ordered October 28th 2017
I ordered 1st week of January 2018. I was kinda hoping they were a bit further along. Ah well.

Re: Powder Coated PEI Steel Sheet
Lastly, the cost to produce each sheet is the same, [...] You can't look at it from a pure raw material standpoint..
OK, I'll bite - why is this the case? I'm genuinely interested.
The only thing I can think of here is that because of the large variability of custom sizes, you are not hitting any sort of economy-of-scale thresholds with your supplier and so are getting charged a very high rate-per-unit to amortize any tooling and equipment setup for said customizations.
Correct! We use a coil fed laser blanking system as it's the most efficient and less human labor/sources of error compared to a pallet changer.
That only addresses getting the steel sheet to size prior to coating, though, and doesn't actually answer my question; the net labour for the step is the same regardless of sheet size since all you do is punch in the design size and have it cut. Your coating process is presumably identical regardless of sheet size so I still don't see why a sheet that is 4x the area is the same price as a smaller one.

Re: Powder Coated PEI Steel Sheet
I wiish I could bang my heals together and get to March shipping dates so they can start offering them to all again.

I am surprised there are not more folks joining to buy the kick starter.
Yeah this is going to turn our really sad for prusa if this kickstarter can pull off in 6 months what prusa cant in over 3 times that amount of time.
That's not a fair comparison, the guy said he's been working on it for quite some time already before it launched.
So you think prusa didnt start working on it early either? Ill bet they did.

Today, my Powder Coated PEI Steel Sheet finally arrived 😮 🙂

It's not by any means; it's not that simple with a coil fed machine. Making assumptions is not very prudent.

Which is why I asked you to enlighten me.

I already have. Research laser coil blanking systems and enjoy. 🙂 Contact the companies and ask for quotes.

I guess you did with that last post: the guy that buys a smaller sheet is paying a bigger portion of your expense to buy the manufacturing equipment. Okee dokee then.

When you factor the price of international shipping ($24 USD) which is included in the pledge amount of $45 USD, it is aggressively priced at $21 for the sheet before shipping.

Not helping your case there. You just told me I'm basically also overpaying for my "free" shipping if I'm already located inside the US. Icing on the cake!

Not at all, domestic buyers have faster shipping at an equal price ($24), so you seem to like making assumptions just to try to bring someone down so you can comfort yourself.

You should have created an option to back more than one sheet to save shipping.

Not possible with Kickstarter without having cluttered rewards. Buyers will be reimbursed the difference for multiple sheets/systems backed to be fair.

I'm going on the information I'm given in direct reply to my question. You told me in your own post the rate includes international shipping at $24. If you don't want me to take that at face value and make what are logical inferences (that I'm getting charged an international shipping rate for domestic shipping), perhaps you could be a little more verbose in your explanations to someone not intimately familiar with (and interested in knowing a bit more about) your processes and choices. Three more words ("Or express domestic") could have prevented the assumption with which you take issue.
Originally a few things about your campaign raised eyebrows. I asked for clarification and got a few terse answers that didn't explicitly answer the questions. Since I can't read body language and expressions over the internet; it didn't exactly help the situation and comes across as though you're being evasive. I'll admit I was a little snarky with my last reply as a direct result (so for that I will apologize), but it hardly justifies an insult on my character for your own lack of verbosity when asked questions.

I understand and I am also sorry for having lack of verbosity. I have been spread very thinly over the past year and it has taken its toll in several ways.

Fair enough, I've been in that boat myself at times (As the saying goes, "life is what happens when you make plans") so I'm sorry to hear that and hope things start looking up for you soon, if they are not already; Some things just don't come across well in text. Best of luck in your campaign.

Not true. Many projects have done it. You make one for 1, 2, and 3 for example. You have make separate options.

I just got my email link to order the sheet with a original order date of 11/22/17. Well I got the email a few hours ago but I just got home to actually order it. Now to wait a couple more weeks for it to get here.
