Re: Powder Coated PEI Sheets: NOW SHIPPING
That is the same one I bought. I will tell you there is no advantage to this one over the Prusa Powder Coated (outside of availability) and one major CON - you cannot clean it with acetone.
Not that I'd risk it and that I have only ever used acetone on my stickered sheet once because I prefer Dawn. But... If both are Ultem PEI one would think they should both be able to handle the same cleaning agents...
Re: Powder Coated PEI Sheets: NOW SHIPPING
I have used acetone twice on my powder coated sheet without issue.

Sama here, works fine
Re: Powder Coated PEI Sheets: NOW SHIPPING
I have found nothing to indicate you can’t use acetone. I did email support.

Re: Powder Coated PEI Sheets: NOW SHIPPING
I used acetone once, dawn once, and alcohol a bunch of times. My prints stick so firmly to the sheet that even when it is cooled to room temperature I have to flex a lot to remove them. I refuse to change anything to make it easier in fear things will never stick again. 😀
Re: Powder Coated PEI Sheets: NOW SHIPPING
I find it interesting that only a YEAR later, Prusa finally can start to deliver the textured sheets he promised.
Maybe not open your mouth before you think?... If I were to run my business the way PR runs theirs.... I would be out of business.
Yea, I will sell you this thing.... wait... we can't figure out how to make it.... check back with us in about 9 months time, we may have figured it out by then
Anything can be made better

Ok, support got back to me with an email: “you can use acetone on powder coated sheets without any problem. Acetone will work perfectly.”.
It would appear that acetone is acceptable to clean the powder coated sheets.

Can you Select MK3 Kit with Powder Coated Sheet, and then add a PEI Sheet to your order?
I can only find the PEI replacement sheets in the Eshop.
Thanks

The powder coated sheets are not available unless you order a printer. As you said, you could order the PC with your printer and add the PEI sheets separately.

Can you order the PEI Sheets that are already mounted to the spring steel sheet? Logged in with the Powder coat MK3 kit in cart, but Can not find the PEI sheets already mounted to the spring steel sheet.

I don't know if you have access to it before you order an MK3, but here is a link to it. https://shop.prusa3d.com/en/mk3-printer-parts/216-spring-steel-sheet-smooth-pei.html . If you can't access it I would reach out through chat.

No I don't, That Explains it
Appreciate the help!
Re: Powder Coated PEI Sheets: NOW SHIPPING
I've been quite happy with the smooth PEI sheet I got back in May.
I've never really heard any advantage of the powder coated sheets. I was hoping to get one but now I just don't see why.
The only thing I'd like is two interchangable surfaces, one for use with additives (like gluestick) and one for keeping clean.
Can someone who has used both sheets tell me what they like/dislike about the flat vs powdered spring steel?
I maintain an informal list of San Diego, CA 3D printing enthusiasts. PM me for details. If you include a contact email and I can add you to the informal mailing list.

I have 9 print beds with different surfaces. I like tinkering. I have yet to see a benefit for pc sheets but I have only used pei twice.

Did the vouchers ever go out for the Powder coated sheet? Specifically for Week 2 MK3s
I have not seen it yet.
Still strongly feel like when we purchased them with one of the main headline features being the Powder coated sheet, we would not have had to pay extra for it a year later...
I still don't see availability of the Powder Coated sheets, are they even been avalible for people that made kit purchases?
Re: Powder Coated PEI Sheets: NOW SHIPPING
if you order a kit with the smooth sheet it ships in about 3 days
if you order a kit with the powder coated sheet it is shipping in about 3 weeks it says.
I ordered my kit at the end of August with the powder coated sheet and I received it September 24th
I suspect that the lead-time is a variable that grows and shrinks a bit, and as the supply of sheets that pass Prusa QC when they get them in from the manufacturer also fluctuates depending on the quality of the latest batch. I get the feeling that passing the strict Prusa QC has been a bottleneck ... the other variable is the % of kit orders that decide to wait 3 weeks for the powder coated sheet option (and I expect that those that order an assembled printer are at the top of the priory list for them ( I did see a comment on one of the facebook groups last month that someone in the USA had ordered an assembled printer with powder coated sheet on a Monday and was printing on it that Thursday.)
Re: Powder Coated PEI Sheets: NOW SHIPPING
So, has ** anyone ** that opted to go for the stickered sheet received a voucher for a powder coated sheet yet?? Sorry, I didn't read all 18 pages of this thread, just the last 5 or so.
My order date was 9/22/17 (ordered an MK2s the day before the announcement and changed my order the next day). I received my MK3 in the first week of December 2017, over a month after I expected it when ordering. I totally support Prusa Research delaying shipments to ensure a quality product was delivered. However, I am now reading the powder coated sheets are going out to people that ordered as late as August 2018! That I am not cool with.
Re: Powder Coated PEI Sheets: NOW SHIPPING
No, and I'm not expecting to. Per Prusa's announcements, vouchers will be released when the PC sheets are available in the online store.

[...] That I am not cool with.
Rather than re-type everything that's been said on the topic, it might be better if you go back and re-read the last few pages.
