Powder coated PEI sheet 3 options. Which option are you choosing?
Vouchers are going out and you have 3 options.
I am choosing $10 Voucher for Powder Coated PEI Sheet.
Thanks
Re: Powder coated PEI sheet 3 options. Which option are you choosing?
It really depends on whether you care about the texture or not. If not, the double-sided PEI sheet is fantastic. If so, the only real option is to wait for the powder-coated textured sheet.
I'm not too excited about the $30 in-store credit as, at least based on my last experience, it can't be applied to postage.

Option 1 all the way. I'm already sitting on 5 stickered PEI spring steel sheets.

LOL I got 2. Option 1 is a must have IMO.

Does anyone know how well PETG works on the Powder Coated surface?
Wouldn't mind “helping” Prusa out by taking them up on a alternate option...
But... I am pretty convinced its the correct surface for certain materials?
Does it bond with the PC PEI as well as the smooth sheet? Where it takes a little of the build surface from time to time?
Or is it the textured surface that makes it a non issue because it hides any imperfections created?

Prusa use the powder coated sheet in their farm for the MK3 kit parts.
Given the majority of parts are PETG think you'll be pretty safe with parts sticking well.
Personally, I like the texture of the powder coated first layers so will probably go for that option.
Smooth PEI sheet also works great with PETG. I use windex original which helps parts not to stick too well and raise Z by 0.015 for PETG compared to PLA so it doesn't risk the smooth PEI lifting when parts are removed.

I'll also go for the textured PC Sheet once I get the voucher
But I guess most of the time I will still be using the smooth PEI coated sheet.
Most of my parts simply look better with a smooth first layer, but I just ordered also a blank steel sheet from Aliexpress with a slightly textured build surface sticker for experimenting.

Went with option #3. $30 off on any thing in the e-shop. It listed no exemptions, exceptions, or "use by" date.

Powder Coated PEI Sheet all the way.
Would not care if I even had to pay full price and shipping on it 😀
