Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
I'm up and running with Octopi on a RPi 3 B+. Seems to work really well. My only issue is when I cancel a print through Octopi, it doesn't seem to respond again without me resetting the printer. Any thoughts?

That was fixed yesterday: https://github.com/foosel/OctoPrint/commit/bf3da2a662efe979adf27cf818ad7ee89a10e3ac and shop be in octoprint 1.3.9
Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
I've used Octoprint extensively and thought I could simply plug in the Mk3 and go, but such was not the case.
The first thing that happened was an error stating that excessive levelling correction had been encountered and Octoprint was going off line. Then the printer began slamming into the ends of x and y axes. I loaded a print from the sd card and after recalibrating x and y by itself, it printed normally.
3.13-245 is the firmware. Anyone got any ideas? The printer prints beautifully from the SD.
Do I need 243e to get this to work? Octoprint definitely said something to the printer that it took exception to.
Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
In case it wasn't clear in my previous post - this is a pi 3 over usb.
Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
Well this is just weird - I tried it again after printing a few things from SD and it works as it should.
Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
Just had a power outage with my pi3b setup, and lost a print. I have a pi zerow
, if you attached that to the pins on the printer main pard, does it handle resuming from power outages?
I guess the more simple solution would be to get a small UPS. Have a few on other things around the house already 😀
Thanks in advance!
Mike

No, not currently. I don't know if they will try to implement some kind of recovery for the pi zero, but the capacitors on the einsy only have enough juice for the printer, not the pi. I had power panic save a print for me a few weeks ago. Worked like a champ, from the SD card, which I don't use anymore.
Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
Hi to all
I want to install the OctoPrint to my new MK3 but I face some issues.
I followed by the letter all I read to do the job.
When I come to the point where the printer has to show the IP. I get nothing.
I tried many times and tripled check everything including SSID and Pass of my WiFi.
I communicated with tech support and the told me to reset the machine.
I did everything but with no result
Can anyone help?
Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
I’m assuming you meant that you cannot connect to OctoPrint via WiFi. Have you followed https://octoprint.org/download/ step 2 under “Getting Started with OctoPi”?
Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
Yes this is my problem and yes I have followed these too.
It should display the IP address after restart but it doesn't
Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
Hi, happy owner of Prusa MK3 (received 2 weeks ago) I tried Octoprint yesterday.
Raspberry PI3 with USB connection
OctoPrint 1.3.8 running on OctoPi 0.15.0
Prusa Firmware : 3.2.1
Crash detection : Off (disabled because I've occured some Y Crash detection, without all print with SDCard are ok)
Filament detection : on
FAN disable during third layer
All test was made with Grey Prusa PLA (provided with the printer)
I have some problems :
1°) I've tried third time to print this object https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1307100 , with Octoprint, and each time between first and third layer, to many Pla flow between part of print (between circle) and to many PLA was deposit and finally during the next layer the nozzle catch de previous one and finally take of the layer. I've just try exactly the same Gcode directly with SDcard and this time the print is perfect.
-- For me Octopring only send GCode so why this difference ? Extrusion / retraction difference ?
2°) I've suspect extrusion problem so I wanted to calibrate again my extruder (by the past, when I received my printer I follow this guide https://mattshub.com/2017/04/19/extruder-calibration/ ), I follow excatly the same process but this time with octoprint terminal, but I meet some problem :
- with original Extruder value : 280, I ask extruder to flow 100mm and I've only 95mm, I change Extruder value, repeat process and this time I've 160mm extrud 😯 😯 😯 , I've reset orignal value (save, reload etc...) and this time 90mm extrude.. I've repeat again and again and none good result from Octoprint. I finally follow the same guide but this time with Pronterface (directly with usb) and again without octopring all it's good my extruder calibration is perfect with original value.
Have you some ideas why with octopring I have this beaviours ?
Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
Have you tried leaving AUTO for port and baudrate? Someone had the same error https://discourse.octoprint.org/t/offline-error-ioerror-errno-25-inappropriate-ioctl-for-device-comm-py2417/1586/3 and got fixed by using /dev/ttyUSB0. I think that /dev/ttyAMA0 does not use your USB port.
Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
I've tried everything. Its not working....

I hope you have already fixed it... but that error I believe means its not connected to a printer. In the Raspberry Pi 3+ it meant the cord was bad or not hooked up.
Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
I'm reading octoprint.org page and for latest OctoPi 0.15.1 there's a warning:
Please note that the Raspberry Pi Zero W is not recommended since severe performance issues were observed, caused by the WiFi interface when bandwidth is utilized (e.g. the webcam is streamed), negatively impacting printing results.
Octopi/print Pi 3 B+ connection issues
I have some connection problems with my pi.
It's a model 3 B+ and I put the latest octopi on the SD card with the wifi info entered as instructed
When I have it plugged in with a keyboard and monitor, it gets an IP and I can see it with octoprint from the other room.
But, when I try to run the pi headless, it doesn't connect to the wifi at all.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks
Re: OctoPrint issues and tips
I've spent a few hours troubleshooting but I can't seem to connect to my pi zero. The IP address is not being displayed on the screen, and I've gone through all of the typical tips and things to check, but none of them have helped. I'm using Angry IP to scan my network, and nothin. Only thing out of the ordinary showing up is something called "GatewayC938D0" but I don't think that has anything to do with the Pi.
I've tried all of the basic troubleshooting tups, but nothing has helped? Any ideas?

Plug it into a monitor.
