Newbie question re 3D software

I am a complete novice here - so much so that I haven't yet received my Prusa yet so please bear with me 😀

I have experience with CNC and am happy with using Vectric software for that.   However 3-D is a whole new dimension for me 😀

I need 3D modelling software that is easy to learn and use.  Preferably free but I dont mind paying a reasonable amount.

What do people use/recommend?

Fusion 360 by AutoDesk.

As long as you are using it for a hobby, the (very expensive) license is free.

Search YouTube for Fusion 360 tutorials. There are some great ones. And Fusion 360 can export STLs.

RE: Newbie question re 3D software

For technical/engineering parts Fusion 360 (F360) is the best and free for startups and hobby. For more organics/free shapes modeling, Blender is the best and also free. Both programs has a learning curve, so be prepared to spend some time learning (Youtube).

Other programs are easier to master, like Sketchup, but you won't regret learning F360/Blender.

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉

RE: Newbie question re 3D software

I have been trying to download Fusion 360 for over 24 hours now.   The problem is that I seem to have previously registered for a trial and whatever I try,  I cannot re-download it.  If I did previously download it it is no longer on my computer and I never used it.

I can't find any support to help me - just some automated thing called AVA that seems to have not heard of Fusion

I have finally managed to find a link to download Fusion 360 and have successfully registered it as a hobbyist.
