New to printing (pausing / resuming)

Hey Everyone,

I am super new to 3D printing, and have a question, i just bought the I3 MK3. I read the manual and it says to always stay near the printer when its printing. I found out the hard way why 🙁 . walked into the room with the printer having a huge ball of plastic encasing the hotend, and some wires etc. Anyway to my question. Have any of you used the pause print, and when resuming the print did you ever have any troubles?

Thanks!

Yes, I sometimes pause the printout. It is mostly for checking the print quality.

Your problem with the filament ball probably depends on your Z level being too high or the filament does not get stuck on the bed due to a poorly cleaned bed. Wash the bed with soap and water, it always works well.

you'll eventually know why those types of things happen after a few months/years of printing and you will be able to avoid prints like that or avoid leaving them alone. If you are talking about pausing overnight or similar i would suggest not. if you are talking for 15 minutes or so you might be able to get away with it. but the 15 minutes is not likely to be an issue. it is the hours away that end you up with the mess you are talking about
