New R7 parts in github. Anyone know what they've updated and why?
As per the title. I'm just interested if anyone knows the changes and for what reasons. Thanks.
RE: New R7 parts in github. Anyone know what they've updated and why?
I belive the lcd cover was updated to be 80mm instead of 85. I just went through the exercise of printing two lcd covers for my printers in different colors and the R2 version did not match either of my MK3S or MK3S+ printers. Mine were built and delivered late last year and march this year and still came with the 80mm lcd. Apparently the new MK3S+ printers being built since the beginning of the year have an 85mm lcd window.

It looks like the X carriage and X carriage back parts were modified to make it more difficult to squeeze the X-axis bearings too tightly.
Please note that I am not an engineer, so this is an educated guess based on the changes in the scad file…

Thanks both, appreciate the insight
How to download (possibly dumb question)
Hmm, I tried to download the STL files for these from githib by right clicking and selecting "save link as", but the resulting downloads are corrupted. Seems like I'm missing something obvious in github.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
..yes, is a mess there..
Click on stl part you wish to download and you'll get rendered view.
Some parts have "Download" button (top-right above part view) -click on it and you'll page with raw stl data. Select all (Ctrl+A) and copy into Notepad for example. Save (txt) file and then rename suffix from txt to stl.
If there's no "Download" button, click on "Raw" and continue as above.
If you wish to download all stl files at once, see here.
[Mini+] [MK3S+BEAR]
Much needed
That is a much-needed change, Maybe that will be more compatible with dry bearings.

check github
If you have a look at github you'll probably find the specific triggers for each part.
