Hello @garethsnaim,

You will find it here, in the /Complete kits/Original Prusa i3 MK3s.

It is better printed in ASA or ABS, but if you print only PLA, PETG should work (at least for a while).

You can buy one  in ASA at the e-shop .

MK3s Stock, PS2.3, Fusion360, Debian, Windows 10.

Is it logical to print fan shroud with resin printer?

@ugars

Why not, they male high temp resins.

@cwbullet

Thanks for the answer.

Actually I was asking for ordinary ones, like anycubic translucent green resin or same quality resins. If not I will use ABS filamet 🙂

I'm asking this because I can't afford for PC blend or equivalent more heat resistant filaments due to exchange rates in my country and some stupid local seller's price policies for special filaments.

I have printed my MK3S fan shroud in resin to make it more temperature resistant. That works very well.
The model has to be modified a little before printing, here is my adjusted version.

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉

Thanks, i saw your design two days ago (and put a comment there also 😀 ), did you use any special resin? I may give this a try.

@ugars

I used the Prusa Tough resin that I got with the SL1 - nothing special.

Before switching to resin fan shrouds I saw some YouTube videos on temperature resistance of resin, it looked promising. Also the finer details and surface of the fan shroud is preserved when printing in resin.

The shrouds is holding up fine - I mostly print in PETG and a few PC Blend models.

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉

I was not aware this part got particularly hot, if it does then I am toast as I only have PLA.

The prices on the prusa are reasonable, its the shipping thats killing me. I have had a bad patch, I think the honey moon is over with this printer. I managed to loose the idler spring when try to work out why nothing was working. I thought it was the extruder motor or cogs or what ever, turns out the hot end was clogged right up. However I had already order the spring which was like a quid and delivery 6 quid 🙁 Now this part will cost me another tenner.

Sigh. I wish there was someone in the uk dealing with prusa supply.

@garethsnaim

In mk3s heat block and fan shroud is too close to each other, that's why heat becomes problem for shroud over 240C, but I have an Ender-3 (first version) which is using a PLA shroud and had no melting problem while printing above 240C 🙂 but I love my prusa anyway 😀

International shipping costs...and customs fees, wish they were not exist in my reality 😀 😀 😀

Well I only really print pla at 215, so I'll print one up for now and order one as well. I have managed to crack the housing on the print fan anyway. Not having a lot of luck right now.

All things being equal is there a lot of difference between a prusa .4 nozzle and the millions being sold on amazon?
