mk2.5s to mk3s parts needed for upgrade
Hello, I have an mk2.5s printer and was thinking about upgrading to the mk3s. I already have a custom frame that I do not want to change, so with that in mind, what else would I need? I do not want to buy the entire $499 kit especially considering I dont want to change the frame.
Is it safe to assume that I would need the following:
24v power supply, 24v hot bed, 24 volt heater for extruder, new rambo board.
Am I missing anything or is this even possible. Is the frame geometry different?
Thanks.

I had a Mk2S which I built into a Haribo frame. I then updated that to a Mk3, and now a Mk3S. As you say, 24v PSU, 24v Bed, 24v 40w heater and new Einsy board was about it IIRC.

The MK3 started using extruded aluminum for the y-axis structure. Your existing frame may not have the correct holes for the aluminum extrusions, and you probably don't have the end-plates for the extrusions.
If that is important, I think you might be able to buy the parts that you don't have pre-cut from the Prusa store. There should somewhere be the fabrication drawing for the MK3 frame that gives the drill hole locations for mounting the extrusions for you to modify your existing frame.
