Mirror the LCD display onto PC?

Hey,

So pretty much as the title asks, is there any way, through using the USB cable that's connecting my PC to the printer, to display a mirror of what the LCD screen is showing? The screen is facing away from me at my desk and I'd love to be able to view it without having to stand up to look over at it.

Prontaprint- free. gives you a visualisation

this is the start of a job, and you can see the temperatures rising in the graph
in the bottom line you can see, extruder temp 226.3 and bed 61.2, and the estimated time remaining is the same as the esitmated time to complete

here you can see the graph has stabilised, the job has started, the image in the middle, shows that part of the first layer has completed and the
above the progress bar shows the extruder temperature measured and target, the bed temp measured and target active extruder temp measured, and pinda temp, ambient temp and other values...

the progress bar itself, shows 0.94% complete, line in progress out of total lines, time estimates and Z position...

the times continually update, and as this was the first layer, the times are estimating how long the job will take at first layer speeds... and I have just realised I am printing a PET Gcode, using PLA material... because I wasn't paying attention!

it seems to have been printing Ok!. especially as the bed was 25centigrade higher than I normally use for PLA and the extruder was 20 degrees higher... no stringing, no elephants foot... no slumping... guess prusa pla has a wide worning range!

you could also use octoprint, but you need to buy a raspberry pi....

or you could use a webcam... again extra cost...

guess you could use a magnifying makeup mirror and learn to read back to front 🙂

Just be aware that any USB reset (like PC reboot, PC shut down, PC sleep mode, driver issues, pull cable...) will reset your printer. Actually the least thing you want to have.
