For anyone with the same issue ... I spoke with support and they explained that the broken thermister cable shorted out the board. I ordered a new one. Thanks again to all of you for such timely and helpful input. Such a great community. This tech-challenged dude was smart to buy Prusa. I consider this thread closed and will re-post should this not solve the issue.
