Lumpy Bumpy filament extrusion
Since I've been encountering some problems with some prints I decided to use the Load Filament procedure to squeeze out a bunch of filament, just to see if it was extruding properly, and though it normally extrudes a nice even, smooth section of filament, this time the filament was all bumpy and lumpy. I was able to do a small successful print after seeing this, but I'm wondering what might be going on here, what might be causing this, and what I might do to avoid it.
It's PRUSA PLA Gentlemen's Grey filament.

Hey @rogerinhawaii, did you ever get to the bottom of this? I'm experiencing something very similar with an ABS that has additives to help with electrostatic discharge.
I've tried drying the filament which didn't do much. I thought it might be a partial clog but I'm not sure.

It's been so long since I had encountered that issue that I don't recall whether any solution was found. It might just have disappeared on its own. As I noted, even though the extruded filament looked bumpy (when just extruded via the Load Filament procedure) it didn't seem to affect the actual print. I SUSPECT I may have subsequently cleaned out the extrusion tube, but I'm not certain about that.
Also, I've only ever used PLA, so if you're having similar issues with ABS, especially with additives in it, it might not be the same root cause.

I am having this problem with Prusament ASA sapphire blue, new spool out the package and the previous black ASA and orange ASA seemed fine perfect print, but I've got a filament dryer on the way from amazon
