Length Inaccuracy when printing diagonally
I needed to print some trim as long as possible... I had already made some short lengths at 20 and 100mm and they came out the perfect size.. I needed a piece that was a long as possible, and found that if I rotated the object, I could make it 300mm long.
So I loaded the model.. Resized it along the X axis to 300mm, and then rotated it to fit the bed.. But when I printed this, it came out at 290mm...
The pieces that were printed horizontally across the bed were a perfect perfect length.. But the diagonal piece is noticeably shorter than it should be.
Is there any explanation for this? I still need to do some debugging at my end, but I just wanted to check incase I was overlooking something obvious.
RE: Length Inaccuracy when printing diagonally
The only way this would happen is if one of the axes is way off cal. Print three parts: two 200 mm parts, each oriented X and Y; and a 300 mm part oriented diagonal. Post a photo and a zipped copy of a 3MF of the slicer build plate.
