I wont drink their "cool aid" anymore. To me, they wont change the way they do business because 95% of their business are hardcore fans whom are walking blind into the cult. They can withstand delays, misinformation, and lack of respect because they are hardcore "cultists" whom are brainwashed by the incredible quality of the Prusa

The Prusa is incredible, and for the price, without equal. But I wont be led into the spaceship or drink their cool-aid.

If you are not a straight shooter, and honest with me, I will not be a loyal customer.

I know its a risk buying an mmu2 from China, but at least i can get it before an mmu3 gets released.. And i can print the parts myself, and buy higher end bearings.

ALso for the mk3s, i just bought it from China, and installed a Bondtech upgrade, so my printer is now better than ever, i didnt have to stare at the sun and make a chant waiting for Prusa to decide when they will grace me with their shipment..

The fanboys ruin it, and makes Prusa think its OK to dick us around. But its not.

I am happy with both my Bondtech and IK3S upgrade. Prusa is doign well with or without you business.

There is no reason to attemp a lame insult on loyalists.

You acknowledge that the quality is unsurpassed, yet you are mystified that people are willing to wait for it? That's an odd perspective. People are not brainwashed. They've shopped around, identified the same thing you did regarding quality, and are willing to wait for that quality. Things are no different with any other products. People are still waiting for Teslas that cost many times as much. Look at the lines at the Apple store when a new product is released.

I know I can order a range of products that call themselves the same thing much more cheaply, but those things are rarely as advertised. It's always best to actually accomplish something before you go bragging about it, much less insulting others for their decisions. You haven't done a thing yet.

It sucks waiting, but Prusa has those very high quality standards you acknowledge. You're more than welcome to pay significantly less for your hardware elsewhere. I spend a lot of time in the Reddit 3D printing forums and am well aware of how well those "just as good" products work. You'll notice a lot of those buyers swear they'll get a Prusa next time.

Before you start complaining about "lack of respect", perhaps you should show some for the other people here who are freely contributing their time, effort and yes, even enthusiasm, to support the people who have purchased Prusa products.

Wow how much of cool aid did you drink? If Prusa charged when they shipped, that would be fine. Their customer service can tell me next week shipping until the end of time, but my money wont be making them interest while i wait forever for an mmu2s...

But no, they take the full amount with shipping, and BS you with shipping times and BS tables they never honour.

Ain't that the truth. I get a huge kick out of folks going to an apple forum to slam apple. If you don't like the way Prusa does business, buy a Creality.

If you want a discussion about PR shipping/invoicing, it's fine. But keep in mind that most of the people here are to help other Prusa printer owners or get help for their devices. If you're just here for rant, then it's a wrong place.

There are some of us though that are trying to change their business model, for the better. Their shipping issues are relatively minor, but still annoying. Their "pay now, wait for months scheme" however, is more concerning. If (long) delays in shipping are going to continue it would be great if they would consider instituting a deposit only scheme like most other organisations. If their products were costing an order of magnitude higher I doubt they would have a business based on paying upfront and waiting months.

I do take offense when someone starts calling everyone fanboy and tossing out insults because we're not joining in on their incessant pity party. Prusa could be better, for sure, but at least the products are worth the wait (for most). Their support is outstanding. The good has far outweighed the bad IME.

That's fine. Hell, I'm not happy about having waited so long for my printer, MMU2 and now the PC sheet. I do take offense when someone starts calling everyone fanboy and tossing out insults because we're not joining in on their incessant pity party. Prusa could be better, for sure, but at least the products are worth the wait (for most). Their support is outstanding. The good has far outweighed the bad IME.

Bingo. That is where I think some of this crosses the line.

I fall on the bit Jaded side, though I have finally received my PC sheet 17 months after order date was a bit over the top considering they were shipping them with new orders less than 8 months after I ordered mine. My take away is that I'll not jump into anything again until it's been fully released. Not a fan but not a hater either, my printer has pretty much been flawless since I received it and has been quite simple to use but it sure felt like it was in beta when I first got it and I'd recommend one to a beginner in a heartbeat with a caveat regarding their business practices. At this point, I'm happy I applied my wait and see philosophy to the MMU2 as it doesn't appear to be what I was hoping for and the e3D Tool-Changer has become much more appealing to me and I'm starting to like the idea of a CoreXY printer in general so my next printer, if not the CoreXY Tool-Changer, will certainly be a CoreXY of some sort as I definitely see the benefits of having two printers on hand.

WOW!

There are so many harsher insults out there. Fanboy just applies to people whom love something so much, they dont care that the company they are fans of dont respect their customers time and money.

It all comes down to that. If you take my money, do what your people say you will do. If someone from your company said it will ship next week to me, then move heaven and earth to make sure its done.

Otherwise, do not hire people who just say something to appease people blindly temporarily.

When Amazon screws up, they make it right immediately, and i will spend blindly at amazon i believe until I am dead. They take back bad stuff, and pay for their mistakes.

Prusa is a multi-million dollar company that refuses to grow. They want to sell their amazing printer and stuff, but refuse to invest in growth so their client-base can get their orders in a "reasonable" time frame. They are not building rocket ships. Its almost like they are afraid to grow and fail, so they would rather stay the same size, and be unable to provide the stock to their clientele so the "hype" stays. And thats what bothers me.

And if "fanboy" is being considered an insult, then i pity the world and the uber sensitive place it has become.

I only wish they could learn from their mistakes but they just keep repeating shipping nightmares over and over and over and over.

And that is not acceptable to me.

Unfortunately, with high-demand items that are difficult to get into production reliably, this happens. At least you're not out $1,000-$35,000 and making monthly payments on your Prusa bits. Just as with Prusa, people are willing to wait to get the quality product they want. No need to start ranting about cults and such.

I would also imagine that a significant number of people *not* jaded at shipping times have done their research before purchasing and are already aware of what they are getting into. I did just that for the MMU2 by reading up on issues people were having actually getting it to work and the long shipping wait times. As a result I opted to wait and experience the base printer first and give them time to catch up on the backlog and make improvements, rather than impulse purchasing one along with my kit.

But maybe I'm biased because I also have seen what it's like to work at a startup and the challenges with delivering products when you can't meet demand. It's easy to say "hire more people" but in practice it's not that black and white.

I ordered my Mk3 in January of 2018. At the time, it was becoming apparent that there would be significant shipping delays. While I was hardly thrilled about it, Prusa did inform me and the shipping table was eventually posted. Additional delays occurred, but Prusa seemed to be trying to keep everyone informed, which is always tricky when you don't control so many factors. I finally got my Mk3 as they caught up in late March. I'm still in line for the PC sheet.

If you're after high-demand products, you can't expect Amazon 2 day delivery. It simply doesn't happen in real life. It sucks. SNAFU and all that. Perhaps they could update us more or hire more people to answer repetitive queries daily, but I like to think they're putting maximum effort into ramping up production while maintaining quality to eliminate the delays. For that, I'm OK waiting to get a quality product.

In other news, today I'm fussing with an Amazon order that delivered a bag of substitute brown sugar instead of the computer part I ordered. "No returns" seems to be the policy.

You see, they did deliver the right product. You didn't realize it, but the computer part is using the new carbon technology that is supplanting silicon technology. You didn't realize it because you didn't notice the fine print saying that some assembly is required. 😛
