Lack of respect and honesty = cancelled order
I was so excited when the MK3s was announced! I love my MK3 so much, and take care of it like crazy! It is truly amazing!
I stayed awake, and ordered the MK3s self printed kit as soon as the "ORDER" button came available so i would get it quickly!
Then, a day later, i asked customer service when it would ship, and was told by one of their staff that it should ship between the 18th and the 22nd. OK, so now that i have an idea, i started to take my printer apart, so i can clean all the little bits, and change my bearings etc. The last time i ordered something, last month, when i asked when my new pei sheets would ship, they stood by their word and shipped when they said.
So, another few days passed by, and i asked again, and now they said they are overloaded from all the orders. So i waited a few more days, and then someone else told me my order will ship at the end of March.
Thats not how i do business. I make mistakes when i work, and i make sure my mistakes are fixed, and the customer always walks away happy. I do not feel like Prusa cares. I mentioned that people whom ordered on the 13th have recieved their items, and are posting pics on the forums, and even people whom ordered the printed by Prusa parts got their orders.
So that was the last straw. I cancelled my order, ( still waiting 3 days now for refund ), and i ordered the Bondtech SLS printed extruder upgrade which has already shipped and i will recieve by tomorrow. The Bondtech upgrade looks better anyways as it reduces the weight of the extruder assembly by almost 300g and reduces ghosting.
I am so disappointed in Prusa, i have no words. They make amazing stuff, but their staff does not do what they say, and thats enough for me.
I attached screens of prusa answers to me, so you know I am not making this up.
Unless i absolutely have to, i will try to avoid ordering anything from Prusa directly. I just cant trust them to do what they say.
Re: Lack of respect and honesty = cancelled order
Hopefully you enjoy you bondtech purchase. Based on reviews, I suspect you will find that they have overstated the reduction in ghosting.

Re: Lack of respect and honesty = cancelled order
I don't see any disrespect here. Looks to me like the customer service told you always the truth. Before the upgrade kit was available, PR projected roughly when it can be shipped. After they got a flood of orders, they communicated that with the updated shipping table and your direct support request.
Just look at the table. The lead time is 3-4 month "Original Prusa i3 MK3S Multi Material 2S upgrade kit (New orders to be shipped in May 2019) 3-4 months". With your end of March delivery you wasn't in a bad position.
BTW: The lead time for the Bondtech upgrade is 2 weeks. It's not that bad it's definitely not Amazon Prime next day delivery.
I understand the disappointment to have to wait for PR shipments. Some people are still waiting for the Powder Coated sheet after one year. At least they closed this option, so you can't buy it anymore.

Re: Lack of respect and honesty = cancelled order
my local shop has the bondtech extruder in stock so i will have it tomorrow. I find it disrespectful because the first person told me after i ordered it that it would be shipped next week. They told me something wrong. and i trusted them.
anyways, i am glad now i got out of it. Dont need the filament sensor anyways , just wanted to have the latest. But i will be better off with the bondtech i have no worries.
everyone else can wait while prusa keeps your money and delays over and over.

In all honesty, I'd say save your money and be happy with what you have, you won't see much of a difference "upgrading" to either extruder and the MK3s is really only worth it if you're having filament sensor issues. Though if you really want a new extruder consider the Bear extruder and x-ends, https://github.com/gregsaun/bear_extruder_and_x_axis , https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3226689 , With the exception of time, material and electricity the bear extruder is free.
Re: Lack of respect and honesty = cancelled order
This is one area that PR do need to lift their game. I was told twice that a mk3 upgrade was delayed shipping because of (different) filament that was out of stock was included in the order. All the filament was in stock when the order was placed.
While I accept that PR do not wish to have filament allocated to an order when it would be weeks before the upgrade kit was ready (although I know some companies would do this) I don't think its good practice not to inform customers the reason for the delay.
It was only on the 3rd attempt contacting support that the upgrade shipped minus the out of stock filament. It shouldn't be that hard.

Bondtech is bringing theirnew paeta to the MK3S. I personally will buy both

Re: Lack of respect and honesty = cancelled order
Why don't you try printing and building a skelestruder.
JLTX has designed a new Hybrid filament sensor housing that uses two small roller bearings and your existing filament sensor which so far for me has overcome my issues with semi transparent, shiny PETG filament.
It also means the existing Mk3 firmware works and you only need to make some changes using pronterface (Extrusion steps) and motor currents if you change the motor, this is simply done in G-Code, but you can use your existing extruder motor if you like.
Normal people believe that if it ainât broke, donât fix it. Engineers believe that if it ainât broke, it doesnât have enough features yet.

What is this? Never heard of paeta.
Re: Lack of respect and honesty = cancelled order
what is funny is i expected the MK3S update kit to be back ordered to oblivion.
I am a MMU2 owner so i got confused in that i was suppose to get a free kit, i thought only recent MMU2 buyers would get one as mine is now about 6 months old.
i went ahead and back ordered a MK3S kit figuring better now then later. well i put the order in and just paid for the kit and didn't think about it.
on that friday of the week i ordered i got the official coupon that i would be getting a free mk3s for my mmu2. figured great if it all goes wrong i'll just get 2 MK3s kits. that monday my MK3S kit showed up, never in a million years would of i expected it to show up like it did.

Re: Lack of respect and honesty = cancelled order
I too cancelled my order for the upgrade (no printed parts). I also placed my order the day it was released and am still waiting. In my opinion having payed for something and waiting this long without any really indication of when it might ship is poor service on Prusa's behalf. I'm also looking at the Bontech extruder as a alternative.

I only wish more people would do this, sometimes companies dont change unless they start losing money. As long as the die hard fanboys sit down, and allow Prusa to keep delaying stuff after promises are made, nothing will change. If i am supposed to be loyal, i need to be respected. When someone from the company tells me that my kit will ship next week, and then the week after, someone else tells me next month, that was the final straw. And once again, if someone does not believe me, i posted screenshots of my conversation with 3 different reps of Prusa in order.
The bondtech kit is AMAZING! the printer makes less noise now, and the prints have a LOT less ringing on them on 70% of the prints.
Thank you Alliexpress also! They just shipped their MMU2 KIT, and i will have it next week. I dont have to wait until May-June or whenever else they decide to delay that also.
Its very sad, when you can order something from China, and get it quicker than from Prusa themselves. Especially since the average wait for items in China to ship is 20 days.

good luck with the cheap components from Alliexpress... hope they don't overheat/melt things.
And since you bought the Chinese knock off I'm sure you will go to Alliexpress for support on getting your MMU up and running when you have problems, correct? Nah, will you most likely be come back to these forums/PRUSA for support

Perhaps Jo is starting to emulate Elon.
If their announcements were all pushed back by 3-4 months, they'd save themselves from customer complaints about shipping. But they'd end up stock piling a lot of stock, which if it doesn't sell.....
I will never complain about their shipping. That is brilliant.

In the interest of complete transparency here is my conversation with Prusa, the replies are attached on first post.
Nothing to hide.
Re: Lack of respect and honesty = cancelled order
So let's break it down:
1. On the same day when you placed your order, you've asked for an update after business hours (02/13)
2. After 3 work days you got pushy asking to prioritize your order and ship same week (02/19)
3. After 7 work days you got impatient because somebody posted something (02/22)
4. After 7 work days after purchase you couldn't wait any longer and canceled the order (02/23)
Maybe you don't realize but if you've been patient, most likely you would have your order already in your hands.

Re: Lack of respect and honesty = cancelled order
Regardless of the snide remarks and hurt feelings in this thread the OP does have a point. I have also had the "runaround" regarding shipping dates. And coupled with the pay now, wait for months concept, it does demonstrate a couple of issues which PR need to sort out. That is the reality.
