Just got my chinese MMU2S!
I am so excited! I just got my MMU2s KIT from China, ordered it 2 weeks ago for $ 200 Canadian.
Of course I got the original MMU2S control board and FINDA sensor from PRUSA, and I self printed all my parts using polycarbonate/ABS mix from protopasta.
I know it wound up costing more than the MMU2S kit from PRUSA, but i dont have 6 months to wait!
I will post my experience after a few prints!
Re: Just got my chinese MMU2S!
I thought you already had it before you recommended it. Will be interested to see your pics.

Re: Just got my chinese MMU2S!
could you measure the diameter of the 5 drive wheels please
early prusa ones were different sizes in the same kit

i did get it, but i returned it because it was missing a lot of parts. This is the new one i just got with the proper sized shafts
I will post pics and first prints day by day.
Either it comes out like garbage, and i admit I am an idiot for not waiting 6 months for the prusa backlog, or I succeed and hopefully inspire a few people to do what I did and just get the main board and electronic parts from Prusa and use the rest from china and have a MMU2s in 1 month instead of 6
I think I have a 50%-50% chance of success. There are so many moving parts in this...

Hello Joan, i attached a pic of the measurement, its dim because the battery is low. The measure is 7.99mm which is prob 8 because i have a low end digital version. I apologize for my cat who photobombed me and tried to bite the ruler.
Would you happen to know if the extruder motor on the mmu2s is the same as the extruder on the MK3?
I have an extra one, so i would rather use the original prusa extruder instead of the chinese one that came with the kit. The weight of the chinese one is heavy, and does not feel right.

Hey now, no cheating... have to use all the chinese parts first 😛
Re: Just got my chinese MMU2S!
I got the MMU1 to MMU2 upgrade, and I was supposed to use two of the MMU1 extruder motors... they were the same as the Mk2 extruder motor,
but I didn't do that...initially I used two chinese motors, the one on the mmu2 hobbed gear rail, worked fine, the one on the selector drum failed to work... so I used a spare mk2 extruder motor...
the original prusa mk2 extruder motor worked fine, but there were miles of excess cable to hide and I didn't like that....
I happened to have a nema17 pancake motor, which is much thinner than the original prusa extruder motor... and it had shorter wires. so I trimmed the wires and fitted a plug on the pancake motor. and fitted that to the selector drum... where it is working satisfactorily....
so the answer to your question is.....
I am pretty confident that the MMU2 motors are not the same as the Mk3 Extruder motor, because at the very least the extruder cables are longer...
But there seems to be a large range of motors that will work satisfactorily in the MMU2, and if you can hide the excess wire, you should be safe using the spare extruder motor.
Back to my question, did you measure all five hobbed gears and find them all to be 7.99mm? or is there a discrepancy between gears?,

Thanks for your reply, i measured all 5, and they were all 7.99-8.01 with the .02 variance i blame on my cheap digital caliper. I wish I could use original bondtech for all five for better grip.
Anyways, its a fun hobby, and i learn by failure. I will probably just end up ordering a prusa mmu2s kit, and using the chinese one while i wait.
Thanks for your help.
Re: Just got my chinese MMU2S!
Good luck, with your efforts.
and remember there is also Zerobeast firmwear for the mmu2

You measured the wrong location. You should be measuring the teeth portion.
Re: Just got my chinese MMU2S!
This is one build I am eager to follow.
