Unfortunately I can't really catch the light reflection on the photo. But one can see the artificial seam in the middle (at the seam of the circles). Both side looks now evenly smooth without interruption.

But one can also of course select only the extrusion width of the top fill (left 0.4, right 0.399) and you get a minimum optical transission. The result is much better than usual, especially with silks.

Thanks, now it works, and the surface is smooth and has an even reflection on both sides because now the top fill for each side is printed in one go. The perimeters split the top layer of the object visually into two parts, but this looks nicer as the iregularities on the surface. In my case I use pattern monotonic, angle 0° and extrusion width for contours 0,45 (left) and 0,449mm (right).

Sometimes you can keep the modifiers from "merging" buy just making them slightly different. Eg a small difference in infill pattern or extrusion width, not enough to be noticeable. But at least in my hands it's been try and error to see what works.

Thanks to all for your hints!

1. Concentric makes symetric pattern but the surface is at the end points not really smooth

2. Ironing makes it smoother but the uniform reflection are lost

3. If I split the objects in 2 modifiers (left, right) and use the same settings (e.g. 1 contour) the Prusa Slicer automatically remove all settings form the modifiers. It only works if the modifiers differs. I know this makes sense, but unfortunately not in my case. Is there maybe a way to switch this of?

You may be able to do that by using modifiers, depending on the geometry. See attached example

I think you are asking for a smooth top layer - please try this setting in Prusa Slicer

infill/ top fill pattern / concentric

the only other possibly I know of is top fill ironing

Unfortunately a post processing is not possible (increasing costs) and fill angle, pattern, extrusionwidth and velocity I tried out already. Is there maybe a way to enforce perimeters to split the model visually in two parts? Because then the slicer could create the top fill for each side in one go...

You can try changing the infill angle in the slicer and you can try different top infill patterns.

It takes some experimenting and ‘you can’t always get what you want…’ as the song says. Sometimes the slicer just has a mind of its own.
