RE: How do I solve the "spider web" little thin hairs on my PLA print

@Swiss_Cheese. Grin.. had to come back to admit to the ‘crappy’ Sunlu S2 that now has died after about 10 uses in 6 months. There are a number of issues with many of these off-shore (to us in NA) products.. I swear they don’t do any testing or QA on the units. The SunLu has a humidy sensor that not only does not work.. but the humidy displays values or images that aren’t characters  in any language. And this is shipping firmware. Then when I contact Sunlu they say to go to my local distributor; so you are now at the mercy of a local distributor to provide any service.. and they deal with so many brands..  I’ve contacted my local distributor but messages are ping-ponging back and forth and likely nothing will happen. What I consider maybe the best 3dPrinter co in canada, VoxelFactory, doesn’t even seem to deal in anything other than the PrintDry system. I’d prefer it to have some form of fan.. but it does look like the only reputable brand that one might be able to buy from Canada. Not that I don’t think Swiss_Cheese could have given more info to base his decision.. but his advice seems solid in hindsight..

The PrintDry has a fan. It's humming along right behind me…

FWIW, I bought a PrintDry Pro a few months ago when I caught it on sale. I have to say it’s been effective and reliable at drying the various filaments I’ve thrown at it.

PrintDry is based in Canada so maybe that’s a good thing for you @crab ? Btw, good on you for coming back to this thread to report your experience with the other dryer you had. I struggled with the $$$ for the PrintDry as well but all the terrible reviews of the units similar to what you tried kept me from experimenting with one. I guess the old saying, ‘buy once, cry once’ is appropriate.

I recently received an email from them saying they were having a Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale, so maybe you can still catch a sale between now and Christmas? Worth checking out.

Good luck!

Cheers

RE:

@fuchsr … Thanks for the info about the fan.. must have missed that in the specs.. .. Don’t think Sunlu will replace my S2 (I’m awaiting word) but with the fan, the PrintDry Pro will be my next purchase.
