Hatchbox settings for Slic3r?

Does anyone have good Hatchbox PetG settings for slic3r? I have been using the generic PET and it seems to work, but I'm brand new to this so I have no idea what I could be missing.

For that matter, how specific do these settings need to be? If I use the generic settings am I likely to get decent prints most of the time or is it critical that I use specific settings for each brand of filament?

From what I understand of it--like the Pirate Code--the default settings are "more what you'd call 'guidelines' than actual rules." 😀

So, what settings work for one may/may not work for another; some tweaking may--or may not--still be necessary, which is why some people start every new filament with test prints like temperature towers, calibration cubes, etc. to narrow down exact settings for their printer with any particular (mfr./brand/type/formula) of filament. This is also one reason some filaments get huge swings in ratings on Amazon.

Nothing wrong with the question, but do expect you may still need to tweak it a bit. 😉

That's "MISTER Old Fart" to you!

If you don't see any issues, you don't miss anything 🙂

Re: Hatchbox settings for Slic3r?

I used Generic PET, with only two changes:

* (probably not Hatchbox specific) of using a +0.035 Z offset, so that the PET doesn't get smudged around on the build plate. Found by testing first layer swatches.

* I used 245C for the later layers (rather than the default of 240C) because the default layer adhesion wasn't as good as I was getting on my other 3D printer (where I've been using hatchbox PET for a while). There is slightly more stringing but for me this was worth it.
