Firmware 3.5.2-FINAL for Original Prusa i3 MK3
UPDATE: Final version is out https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/general-discussion-announcements-and-releases-f61/firmware-3-6-0-final-for-original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk-t28160.html
WARNING: This firmware is for the MK3! Don't use it with the MK3S.
Hi guys,
this is an upgrade of the firmware for the Original Prusa i3 MK3. It is a final version recommended to all users.
Only difference compared to 3.5.2-RC1 are new messages translations and language corrections.
What is new?
-> More quiet print fan operation
-> Heatbed regulation improved
-> Improved heater temperature regulation
-> Spool join for multi-material prints
-> Smarter load/unload function
-> Mintemp for MK2.5 updated
-> SD card menu is shown automatically when the card is inserted
-> Safer communication between MMU2 and printer
-> Crash detection for zero target temperature fixed
More quiet print fan operation:
This change is significant especially for low fan speeds.
Heatbed regulation improved:
Heatbed PWM now works on a higher frequency. This helps to reduce the power supplies "clicking" noises.
Improved heater temperature regulation:
When changing temperatures during the print, temperature regulation was very slow in some cases led to preheat error. Regulation has been improved. This should solve issue #1362.
SpoolJoin for multi-material prints:
It is now possible to use the "SpoolJoin" function also with multi-material prints. If some filament is depleted, the printer replaces it with next filament for the rest of print (for example if filament 2 was depleted, the printer starts using filament 3 instead). If there is no filament which can be used (all filaments were depleted), the printer waits for the user to insert new filament manually.
Smarter load/unload function:
If a user chooses load (or unload) in the menu with a cold nozzle, nozzle preheat menu automatically appears. After selecting material, preheat starts. When the nozzle is hot and the printer is ready for a load, beeper signal occurs. This function is working on single material printers with load/autoload and unload. It is not currently implemented for multi-material printers (load to nozzle, unload and eject).
Mintemp for MK2.5 updated:
"Mintemp" is now checked after a short period of preheating. This is necessary for maximum reliability on all MK2.5 Rambo boards.

Re: Firmware 3.5.2-FINAL for Original Prusa i3 MK3
Hi,
I flashed the firmware 3.5.2 on my MK3. During the self-test, these error messages are displayed:
Fan test Left hotend fan? Spinning / Not Spinning? Selftest error! Please check Front/left fans
Both fans rotate during the test.
If I flash firmware 3.5.1 again, the self-test runs without error.
Any ideas?
Best regards

Hi Thomas,
this version of self-test requires user interaction. Run the self-test and answer according to the questions on the screen, you should pass, if the printer is ok.

I did the same thing last night after flashing. First prompt is asking if the extruder fan is spinning, second prompt is asking if the part cooling fan is spinnning. I answered incorrectly the first time and it thought that the fan wires were reversed (i.e. the extruder fan was plugged in to the part cooling fan plug), based on my response.
I ran it again and answered correctly, and it made it through the self test perfectly fine after that.
Also, it's nice that the heated bed no longer makes noticeable clicking noises once it gets to temperature!

Re: Firmware 3.5.2-FINAL for Original Prusa i3 MK3
Hello!
I just updated to 3.5.2-1999 and the autoload filament feature is no longer working. Is this a known issue?
Thanks for the help!
EDIT
Nevermind all! I reflashed it and all is good now.
Re: Firmware 3.5.2-FINAL for Original Prusa i3 MK3
I flashed to 3.5.2 1999 on my MK3. Since then i get Z axis calibration errors (without further details) at the calibration of the 9 points before starting to print. The selftest is passed without any problems. i also did the XYZ calibration. it did not help. Can you pls help me? Best regards, walter

Have the same problem. I had to downgrade back to 3.5.1. Did XYZ calibration, self test without problems. Try to move pinda up and down and nothing work. 9 of 10 calibration (mesh bed leveling) failed
Re: Firmware 3.5.2-FINAL for Original Prusa i3 MK3
For anyone interested I've been running 3.5.2 while connected to octoprint and haven't seen any weird temperature fluctations so far. Only been pirnting ABS and PLA with it so far.

Same here... I'm in process of trying to re-level my bed, and it's getting frustrating having the constant failures

Got the same error! Will there soon be an update to fix this?

Please make sure you are answering correctly, for the correct fans. One should be spinning and the other shouldn't, and possibly vice versa.
I think the problem is that the default selection for one of the questions is not the expected true response. This can result in a test "failure" if you're just clicking your way through the fan check steps.
