I bet you can take three pieces of paper, and "feel" the nozzle compress the paper, when doing the 9 point calibration. I also bet you get little "blobs" all over your PEI sheet, during the 9 point calibration. 🙂

If you do the PINDA placement as described in "PreFlight Check" you should be ~0.700.

You are right. I got these 9 little blobs from day one. 😉 Thought it would be normal as the printer came assembled that way. Seems Prusa is not following their own recommendation for adjusting the PINDA when they assemble the printers. 😕

I‘ll lower the PINDA again to reach -0.700 offset. Lets see, if that helps with the little blobs.

It appears that the temperature of the extruder motor has been reduced. In previous prints, the temperature was 53-55°C. Now the temperature is at pleasant 40-42°C.

I also experienced that the nozzle gently touches the bed on calibration (which wasn't the case with previous versions). Lowering the PINDA probe just a little bit just worked.

Nevertheless for existing users upgrading, they might face the same issues . . .

My nozzle also hit the paper when calibrating xyz....lowering the pinda somewhat helped...The first layer calibration however did increase from -0.635 to -0.935. Printing with no noticeable problems, except maybe the extruder making a weird noise when doing really fine details.

For the record: I lowered the PINDA another half turn. Btw. loosing the screw on the PINDA and gently pushing it down as recommended in the original Prusa assembly manual doesn‘t work. The PINDA is threaded-in so you have to loosen the screw and then turn the PINDA clockwise, strange.

I’m now at about -1.0 offset. Nozzle is no more grabbing the paper during calibration and no more little blobs on the bed during the mesh bed leveling. At least not with PLA. Let‘s see whether this is true as well with PETG.

So if your nozzle is grabbing the paper in 3.2.0 calibration, cancel and lower your PINDA.

Just spent the last 2 hours trying to get the XYZ Calibration to complete with the 3.2.0-RC2. It always passes the 4-point calibration but fails on either the 2nd or 3rd point of the 9-point calibration. Lowered the Pinda, raised the Pinda, factory reset. Nothing works. Reflashed with 3.1.3 and it passes every time.

Very odd. I have been doing some bed level shimming after moving to RC2, and have done several XYZ calibrations. No trouble here, they pass every time. What is the error it returns after the failure?

for me it looks too squished, try adjusting your live z a bit higher.

While doing a temperature calibration, which is done without the spring steel bed attached, I realized, that the PINDA is not probing exactly over circle printed on top of the bed but more on the edge of the circle in 1 o'clock direction.

Is this supposed to be? I don't think the print on the heatbed is that much off in compare the internal components.

Well maybe that is the best spot to sensor the distance as evaluated during the xyz calibration.

Would be nice others keep an eye on their PINDA during temperature calibration and tell me, whether they observe the same offset.

I agree with Pavlo.

I had the same issue when I flashed the new firmware, I put the same Z-adjust than before and it was to low, I had to higher it like 30um and it was much better.

Updated firmware. Lowered PINDA about 0.5mm from where I had it before. Passed XYZ calibration. Ran through a z-height calibration (I thought 0.980 looked good). Then I did a PETG print and larger PLA print. Both worked great.

Sensor didn't trigger. Check for debris on the nozzle.

Funny thing is I can actually watch it trigger.

What's the best way to lower the PINDA probe? When I last set my Z height I had to go with -1.006 as a setting to get the prints I'm getting now. Would lowering the probeallow me to get in the -400-600 ranges?
Using a flat blade screw driver I loosened the tcrew pried the clamp opened and dropped the probe one screw thread. This was way too low so I put it back.
I then tried to twist the probe down, but the wiring is so stiff it wouldn't move. I guess I would have to remove the cable run, lower the probe a few twists and rerun the cable and secure it.

try prying the clamp (very gently, if it snaps, it need a new extruder body!!!) and then twisting it clockwise to move it lower(looking from the top), there should have been a loop left with enough room to twist it.

NO, you have to RAISE it if you are trying to bring -1.06 closer to -.700-.800! By raising it, it fires a bit later, and hence your nozzle will be closer to the bed.

Then I need to turn it to the right or clockwise to raise the probe? I'm already running an xyz calibration after going counter clockwise.

That depends on how you are looking at it. If looking from above- counter-clockwise to raise the probe.
