Wow, so I am the bad guy for expecting a machine to work as advertised....

So Rob and Nikolai, when you buy a product you don't expect it to work as advertised?

Nobody said you are the bad guy, just being a little unrealistic.

In this world of complex machines, anything more sophisticated than a dishwasher will probably get firmware updates to fix issues. That is the reality. Then again our dishwasher got a firmware update recently, so it can even happen to them.

However, if you can't see the value in a Prusa then you should definitely get rid of it. It isn't worth getting upset over.

Our optical filament encoder not only detects the presence of a filament, but also its movement. This means we can detect running out of the filament, pause the print and ask the user to insert a new spool. That is pretty basic. But we can also detect stuck filament and offer the user a cold pull to clean the nozzle and continue the print.
The Extruder motor can detect a jammed extruder

Advertised that it works fine, but not enabled in FW? Even crappy companies like DaVinci make sure the whole machine works.

According to Czech law, you could get a discount if a product is not as advertised. Might be worth asking Prusa
