Did I do any damage?
I may just be a little paranoid but I just want to make sure I didn't do any damage. I have an i3 MK3 I built a few months ago and it has been working great. Last week I was running a print that ran over night. At some point, my roll of filament got tangled and apparently the extruder kept trying to pull the filament to the point that it actually pulled the spool off the holder and it fell and was laying on the work bench behind the control box. So I think the spool probably hit the cables of the extruder head and the back part of the print surface and maybe the controller box itself. I looked over everything very carefully for any bent or broken and everything looked fine. I did do a number of test prints and everything looks good but I just want to know if there is any damage I could have done that may show up later or may cause something to go wrong with a print. I did wear off some of the finish on the top of the main black plate from where the filament was being pulled. I built the printer and it does seem very sturdy and again, I may just be paranoid but I just wanted to make sure. I'm sure this has happened to other people in the past.
Thanks! Mark
RE: Did I do any damage?
If it were me and the test prints look good I would call it OK.
If you actually did any damage, it will show up sooner rather than later.
Address it when it does. No point worrying about it until then.
