Convert MMU2s equipped MK3s back to single material?

Sorry if I am asking something that has already been covered.

Bad luck with my MMU2s 'upgrade'.  I can t get it to work and I am tired of fighting it and want to just run as single material again.  Do I have to swap E-axis parts back to ball bearing and FINDA probe, or can I use the IR sensor and its chimney , etc?

I love Prusa, but I have to say that I am disappointed with the MMU2s.  I like buying from Prusa to help them continue to innovate, but I hope they have some more tricks up their sleeves for us MMU2s owners who would like to use the capability.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You can just remove the MMU and use it as a plain MK3S with the tower in place. You just need to remember two things:

  1. The autoload function won't start until you press the filament into the extruder gears.
  2. The run-out function won't trip until after the filament is past the gears and therefore it can't reverse the stub out. Simply feed more filament in to push the stub through the nozzle.
