Can we get a "Change Nozzle" preheat preset?

Not sure where to suggest this, but it's pretty straight forward:

Could we get a "Change Nozzle" preheat preset in the preheat menu?

250-260 degree nozzle temp, zero bed temp.

Seems like it would be easy to do and would be a nice quality of life improvement for folks who change nozzles a lot. You have to crank that knob a lot and go 3 or 4 layers deep to do it in the setting menu atm. Not the end of the world, but annoying.

It's so easy to do so it isn't necessary at all.

Just go to "Settings -> Temperature -> Nozzle" and set it to whatever you want.

If it's so easy then why are there any presets at all? The whole point of presets is to have the machine remember temperature combinations that are used for common operations. Like changing a nozzle.

It's more important to get this number right than most of these presets. Misremembering the temperature to change a nozzle and setting it too low represents a serious risk of damage to the machine from trying to change a cold nozzle, which could require the replacement of pretty much the entire hot end.

Thirdly, it's not Settings->Temperature

It's

Nozzle

Put some gcode on your sdcard.  Print it.  Boom.

260 would be much too cool for me.

The Marlin source code that Prusa's firmware is based on has features for presets. At one point, I read that the Prusa firmware was running up against the limits of what would fit on the controller board, so a lot of features had been stripped out. I know they've spent a lot of time optimizing the code. There may be space now. You can always put in a request on the Prusa GitHub pages.

In any case, this is something trivial to do with OctoPrint. There are plugins that let you send a gcode sequence to the printer with the click of a button in the web interface. You could automate an entire swapping sequence, from removing loaded filament, to pushing cleaning filament through, to heating up to 285C for nozzle replacement.

Ultimately, though, I just replaced the front knob with one that's easier to spin quickly and found that took care of most of my frustrations with large settings changes.

I would appreciate to have this "change nozzle" preset, too. At 285/0 as advised by E3D. Prusa did add a preset for new PC Blend in version 3.9.1.

just make a G-code that only heats the nozzle run it "boom!" done. you could even tell it to raise the Z axis

I have to agree.  A setting would be a great option.

@cwbullet

Agreed. Sure, I can use gcode but that means I have to load it and execute it, with whatever number of steps involved for that, from SD or from Octoprint. Preheat/Swap nozzle seems a lot quicker.

Needed? Of course not. Convenient? Sure.
