Bed leveling after each filament change?

Sorry for such a stupid question, but I have just built my MK3s kit and it went pretty smoothly all things considered.  It was a family affair as I did it with my wife and 2 girls. One 8 and one 11.

But I have noticed that after each filament change (Im using prusament PLA) I have to adjust the bed level/live z height.  Is this normal or have we done something wrong?

RE: Bed leveling after each filament change?

Every print you have to check the first (few) lines, and adjust if needed.

Normally if you stay with pla it should be almost the same.

If you use abs petg, with more heat in the bed, you have to adjust.

The pei steel plate and the powder coated steel plate, the thickness is not the same, here you have to adjust.

In the new firmware you can set a number for each steel plate, and save the first layer adjustment to the plate.

Clean bed with dish soap, alcohol does not clean everything. Then the plate will stick every print the same.

Hello and welcome to the Prusaforum!

I would also briefly check if the nozzle and the sensor are properly tightened.
