Axis Length Error - Axis X
I am running a Prusa i3 Mk3S+ I built from a kit in 2021. I have not had any issues with the printer and have produced quality prints. I had to take the printer down for about 6 months while we were remodeling the room it was set up in. When I went to get it set back up, I decided to install the MMU2S I bought when I originally purchased the kit, but just never got around to installing. While I was installing the MMU2s, I also replaced the Extruder motor plate and extruder body because I saw there was some warping around the hot end. I purchased these parts directly from Prusa. Now when I try to calibrate it, I keep getting the “Axis Length X” error. Here is what I have tried so far, in no order:
- Flashed an older firmware (I am currently running 3.14.1, but have tried 3.9.0 & 3.12.1)
- Removed all the zip ties on the umbilical and put them back on paying close attention to the orientation.
- Removed and retightened the cord wrap.
- Loosened the screws on the back side of the extruder.
- Taken the extruder apart to make sure everything was tightened from the part replacement.
- Watched the test from the front, back, side & top to ensure no parts touch throughout the movement of the X Axis.
- Relubricated the X Axis shafts.
- Verified the X axis motor is gripping the drive belt, and the belt is not rubbing on either side.
- I currently have the MMU2S shut off in the settings and have the filament guide taken off the extruder, so this should not be inhibiting movement at all.
- I can move the X Axis motor from one end of the shaft to the other using the move axis setting.
I think I have done everything I can find online, short of replacing the drive belt. It seems like every post about the Axis Length error has 10+ solutions that have worked for some but not all. Does anybody have any ideas on what else I can try? It has been 2 weeks of me banging my head against the wall with no improvements
