Autoload feeder not working
I have a MK3s+, bought it assembled by prusa, been working well for about a year now. The other day I had a roll of filament run out, first time I have had that happen. Instead of adding an new role and continuing I canceled the print. I then went to load a new roll the next day and the autofeeder won't engage. I rebooted the machine, same behavior. Any help is appreciated!
RE: Autoload feeder not working
check the ir-sensor. you can check the switching state on the lcd screen (0=off, 1=on). If necessary, you have to readjust the sensor. if the sensor no longer switches at all, it may have to be replaced. but maybe you have only deactivated the sensor via the lcd?
are you working with mmu2?

Also, you may need to loosen the screw holding if it is too tight. If none of the suggestions work, post back.

RE: Autoload feeder not working
Just got around to working on this. I took off the Cover, disconnected the IR sensor, reconnected the sensor and put it all back together. I also checked that autoload is set to ON in settings. Feeder still not working.
RE: Autoload feeder not working
Fixed the issue. When the old spool ran out, there was still a few inches of filament left in the hotend. I saw this after I took apart the unit to look at the autoload mechanism, which looks fine. I then preheated the hotend and selected unload filament from the menu and out came the 3 or so inch piece of filament. I then reloaded and all looks good.
Thanks for the assist.
